I reckon its a good thing to have an approximate knowledge of your average weight, but a bad thing when you become obsessive about your weight and hop on the scales everytime you walk past the bathroom. Personally, judeging by clothes is better for me, because you can see whether your body fits into clothes you were once able to wear. if they are too tight, it shows you should exercise and yes, cut don on the sweeties, but you'll get a bigger and better suprise if they are looser, no matter how much you weigh. It's your shape, not the weight necessarily.

Weight is like - for a runner - timing every workout. It sounds great as a measuring stick, but you can become beholden to the clock more than feeling the workout. Numbers are noise, and you have a good idea on a different means to "weigh in."

Which do you think is better? 160 pounds of almost all muscle or 160 pounds of almost all fat, on the same size frame? I don't think the actual weight is important, but how good you look standing in front of the mirror, with nothing on.
So throw out the scale and get a full length mirror, and "weigh" yourself that way.

Numbers can motivate or depress you. some people carry plenty of water weight which can make you look and feel a few pounds heavy. In my case I prefer the jeans regimen, eat the chocolate in moderation, drink plenty of water, and do some walking in those jeans.

Jeans...definitely...and remember the numbers on the scale mean nothing---you could be 5'4 and 130 pounds or 6'1 and 130 pounds, and you'd look completely different because the two are completely different body frames...you just have to believe that you're beautiful

I have known lots of people who don't weigh regularly but go by how their clothes fit.
For me, it is helpful to weigh so that I don't start heading in the wrong direction.

It is a good thing in a way to know how much you weigh because you can figure out how much to lose or how much to gain.

I personally don't care how much I weight. If I feel good, and can fit into my jeans-it's okay. Weight doesn't mean anything, it's how you look at yourself that matters.
