Get a job babysitting or a paper route and earn your own money for a phone. Then you can buy the phone that is prepaid, and you won't have to have your parents sign a contract with a cell phone company.

You don't have many choices, their roof, their rules. I won't get cell phones for my girls either. I don't think it teaches them responsibility to by something, pay the monthly bills while they talk away with out understanding the HUGE responsibility of a monthly bill (more importantly one that can go up and down, depending on when, and how much you use the phone).
This is your best bet, this is how I would allow a cell phone - Find a part time job that will allow you to earn enough to buy your own phone, and cover the bills. Your parents may need to get a plan started for you due to your age, but you pay for it. FYI, in my home, if the payments stopped, your phone would become my phone. This is the only way I see out of your issue.
Good Luck

good from them you are too young.
A cell phone is not a guaranteed right in the constitution. And why cant you talk to people face to face. Texting is a waste of energy.
If you feel a need for one, get a job and go sign a contract for $40 a month to use the phone I have it for business and essentinal use only.
Get real. As a 14 year old you should have other aspirations in life and a phone should be on the bottom on the list.

as a parent I can tell you the worst thing to say when you want some thing is "every one else is/has" That generally gets an instant no. Now keep in mint that cell phone cost$$ it may be that your folks can't afford it at the moment. or it may be that they do not think you are old enough for one.
There are 2 things you can do here. You can take on some baby sitting jobs save your cash and offer to pay for it your self, And /or you can explain to them that if you had a cell they would be able to call you any where any time, that you would be able to call them any where any time, and so on. Now if they still won't go for it then let it go. Your parents have a reason for say ing no and the more you bug bug bug the more likely they are to never say yes.

this will take alot of effort on your part but i actually believe your parents are right however i can understand your side as well. This is my advice to you, I would do extra chores, stay out of trouble, stop whining, babysit, try to earn the money and show maturity at the same time. AFTER you have a decent amount of money set aside, sit down with your parents and talk to them in a calm non whining mature way, explain to them you have to xyand z. Also you will have to find reason you SHOULD have a phone, "my friends have one" does not count. I mean explain them, you babysit x amount of days, you have cheer-leading practice from this time to this time, or whatever your schedule maybe. A cell phone is expensive piece of machinery and you need to show that you need it not just want it and show that you are mature enough to have it.

Maybe your parents don't want the extra expense of a cell phone. It is a luxury after all, not a necessity. Do you earn an allowance? If so, save your money and get a pre-paid phone on your own if you really want one. Show them you are responsible enough to pay for it. If you run out of minutes on your pre-paid you will be responsible for buying more.

Babysit, clean house, earn money. Then buy one of those disposable type cell phones at Target or Walmart that come preloaded with the minutes.
We got one for my son who is your age, so he can call us when he is almost ready to be picked up at school when the extra curricular activities end at different and variant times. He hardly ever uses it for any other purpose and it's been a great time saver for us--and has given us piece of mind.
Of course, boys dont talk on the phone any where nearly as much as girls do!

Use the house phone. Cell phones are getting way too out of hand. Call your friends and meet them somewhere. Go over to their house on your bike or walk to their house. Isn't it more fun to spend time face-to-face with your friends instead?
I believe that if your old enough to pay for the cell phon bill your old enough for a cell phone. Until then, your not old enough for a cell phone!

Instead of continuously begging for one, sit down and have a mature conversation with them. Start with, "I understand you don't want me to get a cell phone." Tell them you would like to discuss it. Go on to say WHY you want one (and because your friends have one is NOT a good reason). Tell them you respect their decision and ask when they think you will be allowed to get one. It might not be until you are old enough to buy one yourself and pay for the monthly fees. Then let it drop. Nothing sets a parent's mind against something as when they are begged and begged for something.
