if you have waxed paper or parchment paper...would be a lot better than tin foil......

When I make communion bread I cannot use oil or nonstick spray. I use flour and I use a lot to cover the pan. After it is cooked I use a pastry brush to wipe off the extra flour.

Helpful hints you may already know. Cut off the part of the cake that rises like a hill (caused by too much batter in pan) and turn cake upside down and you have a flat cake to frost and decorate. If you have 2 layers face both tops inward. I use a cake saw to even the tops.

You can use a about 1/4 cup of vegetable oil on each pan and let the oil cover the pan completely (bottom & sides). Then with a paper towel wipe down the excess only to leave a thin layer of oil.

I don't know about foil. But ,brush the pan with vegetable or canola oil and then put some flour on the bottom and the edges. It works fine.

Since you need butter to make a cake, butter is basically the same thing as pam. You could just melt a little butter in the bottom of the pan.
