Anyone know this French nursery rhyme?

Question

When I first learnt French at school we sang a song parrot fashion. From what I made out I believd it to be about a mother forgetting a feather and needing to buy another, but have never been quiet sure! This is what I sang - can anyone correct the French and tell me the correct story?

Ma Mere, Elle Pardue Une Plumbe,
Ma Mere, elle pardue une plumbe more ray,
Ill argentay une plumbe,
Ill argentay une plumbe moreray...

It is a counting song about a blackbird (mon merle) which has lost first one, then two, then three, then four feathers. In the song you ask the poor bird: " Comment vas-tu, mon merle mon merle Comment vas-tu, mon merle chanter?" "How are you, my blackbird, my blackbird, How are you, my blackbird, going to sing?" (same ambiguity in French as in English -- i.e. enquiry after his health turns into an enquiry about how he's going to sing).

Well there are spelling mistakes but from what i understand it means:

My mum, she lost a feather
My mum, she lost a feather (more ray??? don't know wat you mean)
(Ill agrentay??) a feather
(lll argentay??) a feather (more ray?)

But feather is plume not plumbe...
Sry if i can't help you much but as a french person i don't understadn all you mean
