Go directly to the vet... there could be more plus there could be internal infection.. your dog needs antibiotics at the least...2 days is to long to be plugged up so-to-speak.... he might need an enema, oral antibiotics, an e-collar, etc etc etc.....please go see your vet.. or call around there are vets open on the weekends... dont let it go on to long, if its an open wound you could also be dealing with maggots if you are not careful... good luck smile

You didn't mention the size or age of the dog. If he is older than 5 or if he is smaller than 50 pounds, then his anal glands could be impacted, he could have hemorrhoids, he could could has prostate problems.
If it has persisted for two days, then it is time for the Vet to look at, treat it, and explain to you have to take care of it & prevent re-occurrence. Find a Vet and take the dog in today, because 4 days with an inflammation could develop into a serious infection.
I expect the vet will clean-up the problem, run a test, and give you some meds. And a good vet will follow -up in 5 -7 days.

Well, if it was stuck there for a day before you did anything, there could be an infection. Pleaser take proper care of your dog, and if you see something like that, do something there and then instead of waiting. It may off to the vet for treatment if that does not clear up.

Take him to the vet. I had an Old English Sheepdog and they have no tail this results in folds of skin around the anus. If we did not keep him clean flies would be attracted to the area. We found out the hard way to keep it clean. We ended up at the vet to have maggots removed from his butt.

I'd clean the area really good and then glob on some Bacetracian. If the redness doesn't go away after applying the bacetracian a few time a day, then I'd go see a vet.

It will only be infected if the skin was broken. The obvious thing to do is bathe it with disinfectant. If it doesn't get better in a day or two, take him to the vet.

he's going to be advantageous. Cheese isn't poisonous to canines and human beings even supply cheese to canines as snacks. If he's small and he ate it suddenly he could start to throw up in basic terms because of the fact his abdomen can not carry all of it, yet there's no longer something incorrect. wish this enables :)

Call the vet. They can tell you what needs to be done or if your dog needs to be seen. I wouldn't wait any longer.
