my 3 year old dropped the digital camera while the lens was extended (two-piece lens). The smaller section of the lens was jammed up, causing it to not be able to be retracted. Is there any simple mechanical fix to this?

Most likely no easy fix, I have found that in most cases that if your camera required service work for a technician that the cost of repair and 2 way shipping, is as much or more than buying a new camera
Good Luck

Not likely, but possible. If the camera is more than 3 years old, it probably isn't worth repairing - for the cost of the repair, if it can even be done, you can probably get a better new camera. Like computers, camera technology marches on.

I don't believe there is an easy fix for this one. Take it to your local camera shop and they can advise you.
