1. Is it true that PP can't embed mp3 files?
2. If so, is it possible to convert an mp3 to a wav?
3. Does PP give you the option to fade in and out of tracks?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

On Macs PowerPoint uses QuickTime, so mp3 is automatically supported.

On PCs there's a work-around. See the middle of the page on the link below for details.

Powerpoint (at least recent versions - I'm running 2003) is quite happy with mp3's. Just go to Insert>Movies and Sounds>Sound from file and browse to your file. Unfortunately, there is no option to fade sounds in and out - only Play, Pause and Stop. If you have set up timings for your slides, you could edit the sound file, using something like Audacity (do a search - it's free!) to have some parts quieter and some getting louder.
