Everytime someone says that they are a true christian or something related to it, I think Adolf Hitler. Anyone ever get this feeling?

too funny, I just posted this yesterday....

Who are these the words of?

"I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator. "

"Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator - by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord. "

but I think hitler said it best when he said "The great mass of people will more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a small one. "

and

"The great strength of the totalitarian state is that it forces those who fear it to imitate it. "

Yes and no. There are a lot of false Christians out there and few true ones. A distinction must be made.

As to Hitler, he had a simple methodology, take all of people's problems and find one group or person to blame for it. Doesn't have to have any truth to it, just has to sound right.

Remember, the largest block of Christendom, the RCC, called for a world day of prayer for Hitler to WIN in Germany and the other religious clergy also Heiled Hitler.

Obviously, this is false Christianity at work. It needs to be separated from the true Christianity of the Bible.

I know.

You can just imagine the last judgement.

There will be god, and rows and rows of self righteous but differently opnionated christians insisting it is their RIGHT to decide who was a "true" christian and allowed salvation and who is "unworthy" and never really lived up to their view of christianity. After all, they don't want to share the neighbourhood with the wrong sort do they. God, lets be fair, will not get a look in.

After all, Hitler was a practising catholic a so presumably guaranteed salvation and glory in heaven for ever and ever. I sure hope the true christians enjoy his company.

Do you have any clue who Adolf Hitler was? The complete opposite of Christianity.
I 'true Christian' is one who has been born again, and doesn't play 'church games', a true believer.
Do you ever get a creepy feeling about a Steelers fan? They are nuts about their team. They get excited, scream, and jump up and down when their team scores. They 'religiously' go to every game, no matter how many times the team loses. And most of all, they WONT SHUT UP about their team.
Now, a Christian goes to church 'religiously', he might yell and scream, and wave his Jesus flag. He WONT SHUT UP about Jesus.
Both have a right to be crazy about what they believe in.
You need to really study up about who Adolf Hitler was, if you know how to open a history book.
You also need to open up a Bible and read about who Christians are before making such a brainless comment.

I think that when a person proclaims to be a Christian they are unfairly labeled.
Now I don't want Hitler lumped in with me. Many people who claim to be Christian aren't and Hitler was a prime example of someone who used faith to gain power over others.

Not really. Evertime I hear someone say or write that, I think 'manipulator', 'brainwashed', big bucks' and the like.

Some people will say Herr Hitler renounced his christian beliefs. A reading of a selection of the better biographies will show that's not a proven case.

While I do get their meaning, in that they mean a true Christian as opposed to one that is false, I detest that saying too.

There are so many "levels" of understanding, there are so many who are simply immature in their faith, that I don't think it possible to ever say someone is not a true Christian.

Yes. I do.
My dad's side of the family is heavily Christian, and they are so out of touch with reality. They are superstious, and think the whole world is evil except for their tight nitch. I'm sort of afraid of them because they manipulate fantasy tales and they would put their lives on the line for what they believe.
I'm afraid to let them babysit my daughter. They're just too wacko!
