When driving in snow, the tires are the most important thing. The less tread they have, the more difficult it will be for you to drive. The manual transmission should make it a little easier though. Just take it easy and don't ever stop in the middle of a snow covered hill if you don't have to.

Chains are not hard to put on and the people who hire them to you will show you how to do it. The climb to the snow is not too much for a small car although that depends on how many people are in the car. Four people might be a bit of a strain but use your gears properly and you should be OK.

By the way, as you are learning English, there is no such word as "alot" it is two words "a" and "lot". I know many people make it a single word but they are wrong and probably poorly educated. There is a word "allot" but that means something altogether different.

Your car should make it there but I would stop in Mansfield just to check if the roads are open. This week to drive up the mountain chains were compulsory. These can be hired in Mansfield for around $15-$20.Snow depth at the moment is over 1 meter with more to come.Enjoy

Shouldn't be a problem.

Sometimes you need to carry and use snow chains, depending on the weather. You can hire these in Mansfield if needed. There signs on the highway telling you if you need these.

Don't speed on the way up or back. The police on the Maroondah Highway are VERY active during the ski season.

May need someone from Vic to answer. Last time I was there could drive any sort of car there. But then again wasnt that much snow.......depends on the amount I guess. I drive alot in Canada in winter and those roads sure get slippery...truck stays in 4x most all winter.

you are taking your life in your hands if you think a small car like that will make it thru snowy roads even with chains. If it's a rental car and the chains ruin the tyres & they will if you drive on bare surface then your are liable for cost of new tyres. chains are not easy to put on and take off continually. better to find a four wheel drive and use that in the snow.
