i have a CANON IXUS i5 digital camera. i didn't use it for quite sometime. but when I tried using it later on, there was no view on the screen. it's all black. tried to take a picture but when I browsed it it's all black even. I couldn't see any pictures stored in the memory card. it's all black screen

Did you push the 'disp' button?
On my camera it is near the screen.
It sets the screen on, extra information or off.
But it should show the photos stored on the card whatever the setting of this button, at least it does on mine.
In that case it might be broken and you best go to a camera shop.

Your Battery is probably flat. Replace the batteries.

I always use rechargable batteries and carry spare batteries with me, but then I use my cameras a lot and always have one with me.
