Offal - absolutely disgusting!

Cauliflower. Brussels. Turnips, swedes, sweet potato.

My father was Victorian in his approach (still is, apparently!) and once made me sit with a cold bowl of sprouts for 2 days running, breakfast, lunch and supper and in between, punishing me if I vomited.

One year, my aunt invited me over to her house to a meal and asked me if there was anything I did not eat. I forgot to tell her about the cauliflower. When I went to her house for said meal she had boiled a whole cauliflower within a millimeter of its death and then fried it in egg. Oh boy! I was very ill at the time anyway and the cauliflower was the last straw! I just had to eat the mounds of potato and the fish, but the cauliflower. Had to devise an emergency plan for visiting the toilet and throwing up without being heard.

When the hotel taxi came to take me back to my hotel we had to stop 3 times on the way for me to throw up into the river!

Plantain. (Overgrown green bananas cooked and served as a vegetable).
I also object to cous-cous. You can cook and season bulgur wheat in the same way, and I much prefer it.
I'll eat anything. It's the way I was brought up, and a couple of years ago, my daughter, who has travelled the world independently, thanked me for insisting she tried unusual foods, instead of rejecting them out of hand. The other day I asked her if she ate prawns. Her answer, 'I'll eat anything, you made sure of that. BUT, I still don't like liver.' She's 35.

I agree with the person who said "balot" or whatever it is called. I've seen it being eaten on a couple occasions, my mom is Filipino, I guess they consider it a delicacy over there. It looks so freaking nasty and inhumane. On the outside it looks like a normal egg, but it is really a baby chicken that was about to hatch and they boiled it alive. It has feathers and everything, a beak GROSS!!!!!

Bananas
Absolutely hate them, they taste disgusting, but it's also the texture, it sticks to the roof of your mouth arghhh!

For the same texture reason I can't stand peanut butter either!
