My kids were at a Mormon relatives house for about a week, and when the got back, they reported that they had to pray every time they ate anything. Of course they were respectful, but taken back by this unusual experience.
So I asked them if the prayer went like this: "and Please bless this food that it may nourish and strengthen our bodies and do us the good we need inthenameofcheeseandriceamen."
And my kids laughed, gave me a knuckle knock, and said that is EXACTLY word for word what they said every single time they prayed at the dinner table.
My question is, how is it possible that I would know the exact prayer of someone in 4 states away? I didn't even know they were praying? Does this mean I am psychic? Do I have powers normally reserved for prophets? What other explanation could there be? As far as I am aware, this prayer does not appear in any church doctrine, so I'm at a loss.

Yes, as unlikely as it sounds, they stayed with Mormons and we let them. However they were with another adult that respects our religious beliefs and made sure the Mormons didn't go overboard.

Although I am not Mormon I come from a family who was is/was. They are no more dangerous than anyone else -- in fact they are somewhat predictable in many ways -- which include "good and not so good". They are people.
I got a GREAT laugh outta the "in the name of cheeze and rice".
I still even use those same phrases when ever I pray of my food. And yes, you are correct that it is not in any 'doctrine' but has simply become a 'tradition.'
And, before you and everyone else keeps on laughing about people who pray over food (or over anything) I will ask if any of you have ever heard about Dr Masaru Emoto (and others like him) and their scientific experiments on the scientifically documented changes that occur in such substances as water when they are "prayed" over?
If not, you can find lots of references all over the internet by googling it.
You might not only find it interesting but 'attitude' changing as well.
As far as your alledged psychic experience, there could be all sorts of explanations -- but they would be only that -- explanations from (outside) others.
One clue or direction that I would persue is your mother-child relationship -- as these ties (mentally and emotionally) are very strong. You could have picked this up from your children.
How is it that you came to imagine that this one experience would qualify you for the "office" of "prophetess"?
Is this what or all that prophets and prophetess do?
By definition of the word -- they "prophesy" do they not? How was this a prophesy?
Because you were able to 'foretell' something before it happened?
From what I can tell that's not what happened. You didn't "foretell" that this was the prayer that was going to be said, but only "foretold" something that already happened and was known to have happened by several people.
Basically true or real prophecies are for the "edification of all" -- and not for "personal use only".

Even though mormons say they have no written, memorized prayers, all their prayers are the same. The blessing on the food, the family prayer, the prayers in church, are just repeated over and over. They have no originality.

I'm just proud that the kids are very respectful. Even though they know what a crock of crap mormonism is. At least they had a good laugh about it when they got home with us.

nicely I pay attention each and every of the time that in case you pay your tithe reguarly and once you get onto a bumpy highway you are able to go with to or to no longer pay! in case you pay you have a possibility that somebody will attain out and help you, however the comparable factor is going for no longer paying! there's no such factor as paying too lots tithe! in case you dont pay it you in basic terms kinda put in money say like 50 greenbacks for every time you forgot to pay tithing! or in basic terms calculate how lots 10 p.c. is out of your earnings and situations that via approximately what proportion weeks you didnt pay for! you will particularly get a blessing the two way! i wish you CTR! could the holy ghost be with you!

holy cheeseandrice! batman!
(scramble, scramble, thud!! KA!-POW! oww! scramble, scramble)
man u ppl sound like he let his kids
go off w/ cannibals, lepers or a Catholic priest...
for cheeseandrice, sakes!
No, I am Not a Mormon!
As long as the respect is there faith wise,
and they were w/ family; they'd b safe.
Its not like they let the kids run on the freeway!!
Or uummm, whose the Christians that use snakes in their services? Getting all bit up.
The prayer itself is repetitious.
To me it sounds memorized, not comin from the heart.
I'm not judging; just an observation.

That's how I learned it.
Considering all the additives and toxins placed in our foods anyway including dog food from China, a good sincere prayer and proper cooking is essential.
