I HATE crossing my legs ... I either sit in lotus position on my bed, or put one leg under me if I'm on the couch or at my computer. I'm a woman ... and I think that most women think 'crossing their legs' is sexy ... but it's actually 'body language' meaning 'you won't get any, so don't try' ... which is very confusing to me...

Because it drapes one leg over the other. Then it can dangle. Draping and dangling. Then the shoe can dangle from the heel, too. So that more dangling. Then there's leg movement while in that position. Torture! Uncross the legs so we can all see in between! All this draping and dangling. Hair draping, sleeves draping. Hands draping from wrists. Moisture dangling on the lips.
I hoenstly don't know why they do it, I just know it seriously gets up in my brain, and down in my yasir arafats.

It's considered proper etiquette for women to cross their legs. The idea is a lady never lets someone see up her dress.

No, probably from television.
I had a fourth grade teacher - Miss Pearl. She told us a lady NEVER crosses her legs, she only crosses her ankles. (And they never chew gum!)
I remember her fondly. I don't remember my mother crossing her legs, nor my grandmother. It was a different time .. ;_)

no i didn't learn it from my mom. she doesn't cross her legs. haha
but idk, i started doing it one day (middle school i think) and now i can't not sit with my legs crossed.
its weird like, if i'm sitting and they aren't i feel uncomfortable and restless..but when i do its like everything's all better.
hah i just automatically do it, and don't even think about it anymore.

I was taught that it is lady like, and much more attractive than sitting around slouchy like guys normally do.
