Any one of the following methods will reboot your computer.
To safely reboot your computer,
If you are using windows or linux, you can use the shutdown option in the start menu.
In windows you can also find it in the shutdown menu in the task manager, which you can access by right clicking the taskbar and selecting task manager, or pressing ctrl-alt-delete.
You can also reboot your computer when installing programs or update on a windows machine. (you will become quite accostomed to the process as it occurs on every second tuesday of of a month.) When it is finished installing, it will offer up a dialog that gives you the option to reboot. Selecting the option to reboot will reboot your computer.
On a Mac, select shutdown from one of the menus at the top of the desktop.
After you have shut down, if you did not select the restart option, turn the computer back on. Now it is rebooted.
If for some reason this doesn't work, for example, if your computer stops responding, you can do a hard reboot, which carries the risk of damageing a sector of your hard drive and losing any unsaved data and damageing currently opened files.
There are several ways to accomplish this. First, most computers have a reset button or a power button on the front of the computer, macs, however, often like to hide it in a recess in the side or back of the computer if it exists at wll.
If there is no specific reboot or reset button, there is almost always a power button. It is usually located next to the reboot button. Press this twice to reboot.
Another way to do this is to turn off power to the entire computer. This can be accomplished by finding the switch on the back of the computer with a 1 and a 0 on opposite ends. Toggle this, then turn on your computer normally.
Finally, there is the plug. Pull it out then put it back in and start up your computer normally.

Go to Start>Shutdown when a window pops up click on restart. or you can just push a small button that should be next to button that turns your computer on. But its recommended that you do it with the start option because it will properly close out all programs and the button will immediately shut down
