well you dont floss the top most or occlusal part of tooth you floss in between teeth, either you can do it with the help of your fingers holdin the floss or by using the floss holders avilable commercially , to floss it with the help of fingers you need to cut the floss of adequate length say 8 inches or so... and you wrap it around middle fingers of both the hands and guiding its movement with the help of index fingers , moving it in and out and moving it from one end till the other whilecontinuing in and out movement .this way you floss both your lower and upper teeth .

Get floss picks. They are little plastic tools that hold the floss so it is easier to floss. You can get them at any store in the toothpaste aisle. They come in a bag of 50 or so.

you don't. you brush the tops of the teeth and floss "in between". the purpose of floss is to clean between the teeth where a brush will not work.
