Right now, 7.082 million people live in Israel. 76.4% are Jewish. And the other 23.6% are non-Jewish primarily Arab. And the non-Jewish minority has a higher Total Fertility rate of 4.5 children born per woman, and the for the Jews it is 1.73. And to sustain the population it must be 2.1.
Any ideas?

Quite the dilemma, no?

I think Israel needs to work fast and hard for a two-state solution and help foster economic stability in the newly created Palestine. The two states would, over time, have a population shift because Jews would start moving out of Palestine (from Hebron, Nablus, etc) into Israel and some Arab Israelis would choose to leave Israel to be amongst fellow Palestinians in their new state. Of course, people are not going to leave their homes without good reason, thus both countries must be thriving economically. Eventually the move would seem natural, because people would prefer not to live as a minority when they can live as a majority a few miles away. Nevertheless, the Jews who remain in Palestine and the Arabs who remain in Israel should be given equal rights and protected from discrimination.

Well, this is not actually going to happen in the near future, but it is one (possibly unrealistic) plan to help alleviate the population problem!

Israel population is made of Arab Jews and Palestinians Christians and Muslims and they are going to be the majority within 10 years.

Using pure mathematics won't solve this question. There are other factors to take into account, and it would be wrong to assume that these rates are constant regardless of other influences. Israel won't lose it's Jewish majority by birthrates alone.

Hi.
I am very interested in this question. I saw an online newspaper article a week ago that was saying that israel is losing the war with the Middle East for this exact reason. Many of the "jews" brought in are not religious at all; and the internal; arab population is growing at a very fast rate. Plus I know from another article that one or two years ago 13 % of israelis left israel perminently. I am not sure if that is a worlds record but it was certainly noteable.

How long will it take?? I don't know, but I do know that it will happen and in the scheme of things, it won't take that long.

I guess one way or another, israel won't survive.

I wouldn't worry about it. Because it's NOT going to happen. As long as the Palistinians keep killing themselves off in the "infighting" between the different terrorist groups, there isn't going to be enough Peace- to make Love, to increase the population that much. So the question is "moot".
