You don't have to....every time you turn your TV on the Degausser fires. But only if your TV has been turned off for 30 minutes.
IF that spot remains after you have turned it on 5 days in a row...then something else is bad.
That's when you consult with a Samsung TV tech...he'll be able to find the reason.
Misaligned yoke, bad shadow mask, needs a purity magnet...he'll figure it out for you.

TV Tech-man forgot to mention that the set should be switched off at the wall socket each time as the auto degauss only works from a cold start.

Turn it off for 15 minutes and turn it back on. The automatic degaussing circuit should correct this. Also be sure it is not to close to a magnetic source such as stereo speakers.

OK There's no speaker or magnet close.
you've tried the unplug it for a while thing.
you need a degauser, if you try to use one yourself, don't turn it on or off near the TV, turn it on, walk up to it, wave it all around , you'll get lots of interesting colors, slowly back away, check it. repeat if necessary
