I think it depends how long you were in love with the person. Usually the longer you are in love and then break up, the longer it will take for you to get over it and heal. I just think that it differs from person to person and really depends on your moods. Dwelling in the past will not help anything, but you also do not want to blindly wander into another relationship either. I would just want time for myself first and concentrate on me and try not to worry about my ex. Then with time healing will come, or...your ex just may do something really stupid and make your get over them, very easily. Good luck.

its very hard
ive been through it and
but to start the healing process
take everything about that person out of your life
pictures
im screenames
myspace acounts

then
you need to be with your friends
friends help you forget about the pain that you have
and make you happy
at least for a while

then
try to have no contact with the person cause that will just bring back the pain

and then

meet some new people
flirt
get around and have a good time
somtimes a broken heart never heals and you will always feel the pain 3 years after youve last seen the person but doing these things will make you feel better
just know your not the only one going through this and
just look on the bright side of things always

you will get through dont worry thiers other people :]

Yea i've had some personal experience with that and mending a broken heart takes time and it's different for everyone. You just have to know when it's time to move on and realize that you can't hold on to the past forever. Just look foward to the future, good things will come trust me. Good Luck

um, well, it takes a lot of time. lots and lots of time. there's like stages. when my last relationship ended, i cried, a lot, and when i wasnt crying i was trying hard not to cry. you can say i was a little insecure. =] stage two: i got mad and paranoid, i thought he left me for a slut so i went from calling saying that i missed him to calling saying that i hope he was happy with that slut. and i had no evidence of that at all. and then stage three: i gave up. i just decided to accept the fact that i wasn't what he wanted so i went and hung out with my friends. but this was all in a time span of two weeks so you see, time goes by slowly when ur heart is broken. it's really quite sad. but things are fine for me now because he came back when i was in stage three and stopped calling him...lol...but it really does take forever and ever and ever..and my good friend pointed out something to me. she said that you can't have another relationship untill u fall out of love with him. its the truth. it sucks too.

but i am still talking for some reason. lol.

There are many ways to have your heart broken. The death of a loved one or the betrayal of a loved one. Each has it's own degree of pain and some last forever.

this is such a hard quetsion to answer. it relly depends on you and the relationship you are coming out of.
i dated this guy for 5 years all throughout and after highschool i planned my whole life around him right down to when i was going to get married where how dress, the college i went to our future kids i mean everyting and when he broke up with me it took me years! to get over him almost 2 exactly and the first 3 weeks was the worst i cried and cried and lost 25 pounds ended up in the hospital it wasnt pretty but the last relationship i was in lasted about 2 months and i got over it quick he was alow life jerk....so it really depends. just take it slow take deep breaths and pray about it as cliche as that sounds God really does help.

About 3 months. A person has to let themselves go through a whole spectrum of feelings. Shock, grief, anger, hurt, sadness, then finally acceptance. It is a process and takes time to heal,
