It doesn't matter if you had a 10lb. Dog or a 110 lb. Dog........Motrin and ESPECIALLY Tylenol is a big NO! Tylenol is toxic to the Liver, and, even in humans has caused many Liver related illnesses and conditions that have led to Liver Failure and Death.
Don't assume your dog is in pain. Dogs naturally hide their pain as a survival instinct to help them sustain their position in a pack or hide vulnerability to an enemy.
If your dog has such an issue that makes you want to give him medication, he needs to go to a Vet. If you can't afford one, at least call a Vet,.......your Vet,......the call won't cost anything and a good Vet will give free advice. If the dog is in dsitress,.......even at 3:00 a.m,.........call a Vet anyway! Any Vet! I'd rather deal with a cranky Vet than a dead or suffering dog/animal!
It might be wise to share what your dog is experiencing or some symptoms so maybe some of us familiar dog owners can give you some ideas,......but the bottom line and rule of thumb is "Call a VET"!!

No, it is a human medicine and it can really mess up your dog's liver. Plus, think about the size difference between a human and a dog. A little tylenol capsule is enough to make a full grown man feel better... it would certainly overwhelm a little dog!
Is your dog aching, or hurt? If he is aching then there is not much you can do for him, just encourage him to not run around much, and maybe get him a doggie blanket or some ice. If he is hurt, like he sprained his ankle or broke a toe, you could take him to the vet, but other than giving the dog a mild pain reliever, there is nothing that can be done. Dogs heal rather well, and rather quickly.

NO, this is not okay at all. Whatever your reason is for this question, PLEASE consult a vet, even if it is just over the phone. It is better to at least know what you can and can't give the dog. Also, a vet can also tell you what dosage amount. My dog is also ten pounds, and aside from a little Immodium (I checked with the vet that it was okay, and got them to tell me how much) I would be hesitant to give her any real medicine just on my own. Better to consult your vet and have your pet be okay, than to try something on your own, and wind up killing your animal.

No! But there is special pain meds for dogs. If you cannot afford the Vet. Go to a local pet store and ask, it is available over the counter. Good Luck! B-Jay

NO. Absolutly NEVER give your dog human medications. Some human medications are poisonous to dogs and will kill them. Dogs can even die from ingesting a persons daily multi-vitamin pill. Only give your dog prescriptions provided by a vet.

No! Use buffered Aspirin. Here is a site that tell human medication you can use in an emergency. It is better to go to the vet, but there are times you cannot wait.

Ask your vet before you give your dog any medication. Your vet can answer your question better than a lot of people here can.

What is wrong with the dog that you feel it necessary to self medicate?
The only thing my vet has ever allowed is CHILDEN's Benedryl.
