if you put lemon juice in your hair, will it really bleach it?

If you're trying to lighten your hair, and you're a blonde, then add 3 cups of chamomile tea to 1 cup lemon juice. Spray all over your hair and sit in the sun for an hour. Then rinse out and use a good moisturizing conditioner. It dries out your hair. If you're not a blonde, it will turn your hair orange. I'm a blonde and I do this. The chamomile tea is less harsh on your hair, but still lightens it up.

I have dirty blonde hair and like everyone before me said...it will just lighten it up. I first started soaking my hair in lemon juice a couple years ago. I thought it was crazy, but I tried it and it did lighten it up. My hair gets darker in the winter and lighter in the summer. It's nice having natural remedies for your hair.

No, it won't bleach it. It will make it slightly lighter and add highlights if you sit in the sun with it in your hair. If you want to bleach your hair, you could get it professionally done or sit in the sun for a few days with hydrogen peroxide in your hair.

It dosen't really bleach it, it just lightens it, and it only really works if you put the lemon juice in and go in the sun.

it won't bleach it, but if you put in enough and you sit out in the sun for a while, it will lighten in. if you have dark brown hair it might look kind of red in the light.

no it doesn't bleach it per say. it gradualy lightens it.
i used to do that in the summer time before i started coloring my hair. kinda get the same effect from sun in spray that they sell in stores.
