Usually you may have it checked by ultrasound at the about 20th weeks of pregnancy though determination may sometimes not be certain when done earlier.
I am not so certain about such blood test for fetal sex determination so I searched and quite surprised to see articles about such blood test. The controversial "Baby Gender Mentor" is something I haven't heard of. The test's reliability remain unknown however it remains on the market. Other companies also has similar product and recently the test called "Pink and Blue" became available through the internet.
Though there are issues and controversies on fetal sex determination with blood test it seems to be possibly true.
(Thanks for this question, I learned something and please note that I edited my answer.)

She could have an amniocentesis done, but that removes amniotic fluid from the amniotic sack, so that is not the same as a blood test. You can do this procedure sooner then when the ultra sound would be able to determine the sex and this procedure can also be used to screen for genetic disorders. It is a common procedure recommended for women over 35, but when a women is less then 35 the risk of a genetic disorder is so much less that the procedure is not typically performed because of the slight possibility of miscarriage. But, no, there is NOT a blood test that could reveal this information.

The blood test for fetal cells in the maternal circulation is particularly difficult, slow and expensive but it could be used to determine gender. Ultrasound can be much more rapid.
I can usually see females at 14-15 weeks and males at 16 weeks.

Why go for a blood test when ultrasound is noninvasive/nonpainful and probably even cheaper? You ca do chorioic villus sampling or amniocentesis to karyotype the baby--look into his chromosome, but in the preggy mom's blood...i dont think ive heard of any

not that i know of, a sonogram will tell you a educated guess of the doctor looking at it (but is not a definite). You can test amnio fluid (through an amniocentesis) and that is 100% accurate but drastic if the sex of the baby is only needed

i think of i understand what you're able to nicely be searching for, there's no blood attempt to tell you particularly baby whilst pregnant (which would be thank you to risky for mom and infant to truly draw cells from the infant)....in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, there are a thank you to locate this out because of the fact of fetal DNA. Genetic tests that are executed on the mum by amniotic fluid can each and every now and returned discover the presence of male chromosomes for the duration of the tests. in the fluids of the mum, male chromosomes can each and every now and returned be got here upon, yet in basic terms male because of the fact in assessment to women human beings they create a Y chromosome. because of the fact the fetus sheds pores and skin cells those DNA marked cells are picked out for the try randomly. it truly is an non-compulsory try to could in basic terms be used if greater effective finding out is needed or for scientific reasoning (to no longer discover gender). even whilst this finding out is finished, that's uncommon that they are going to document to you the gender of the infant.
