Shouldn't your question be, "Who's not afraid of going to the
dentist?" I have been worrying over that very same subject
lately. Because I switched to another clinic where I hoped I'd
get more concerned care. And now I find that the dentist I
have been given, is making work for the clinic, and I don't think it's my exrays I'm being shown. My husband has had
two fillings and he never had any in his life, due to hard enamel from growing up in the SW. Now he's having toothaches where the fillings went. The same dentist wants
to pull my crowned tooth, because he said there was an abcess in the root canal.(And I've had a root canal) I had some sensitivity and took some antibiotics and medicated mouth wash, and the pain is gone. Once the crowned tooth with a pin in it, is pulled I will have a gap there forever. So I'm not wanting to go back.
I plan to look for another dentist soon. It's pretty sad when
dentists are after that almighty dollar. And will do what they
can to get it. I've had other experiences over the years. So I
don't trust any dentist anymore.
My main fear is the shot. Some can give them less tor-
erous than others. But I can't relax til I'm done with that and
on the way to being numbed. I think I hate going to the dentist
more than any other medical person. It's sheer torture.

i am not afraid of going to the dentist. i actually like going to the dentist. i've been going to the dentist ever since i was like 2 or 3 years old. i had to change dentist because my old dentist passed away and now i have a young dentist and he's really good. they take good care of my teeth and talk story whenever i go for an appointment.

on the other hand, my sister dislikes going to the dentist.

I'm not. I had braces for 5 years, and an orthodontist visit hurts every time, and for about a week afterward. The dentist only hurts RIGHT THEN, for fillings, and not at all for cleanings.

The thing that keeps most people away is the few hundred dollars lighter you are after leaving for the simplest procedure.
