I am a CJ major my self and only have a couple years left. You first need to start with criminal justice classes. If you are just wanting to work the police force then all you will after that is the Police Academy. If you are wanting to work for an agency you will need a minor. As of right now, most agencies are looking for people with a minor in accounting. This is becuase they catch most people (druggies) through thier books or logs. They like someone with a minor that teaches one to look at detail. Sociology is also another great course for this as is Psychology. Other options include Safety, Biology, Chemistry, and Pre-Law. Hope I helped some. Spanish classes are a plus!!

You can do BS or BA in criminal justice BS or BA in Administrative justice or you could do forensics but thats more for if you want to be a CSI. As for the other to degree they are pretty much the same exact thing CJ focuses more on behavior of criminals and society Admin focuses more on the law and how it works. Talk to an advisor at the college you going to each school is different most of my classes at penn state are Soc, BLAW, Phil, Admj, etc. once you actually get into the major courses the usually all say CJ or whatever its then general education courses that are diff from each school.

Depends on what you want to do, there are many specialized degrees in criminal justice. If you're not sure take a general criminal justice course. To become a cop you need an a.a.s. in criminal justice.

you will need a criminal justice degree / criminology/ criminal pschology any of the three is Great.
also...many departments will take you in as a officer with just a high school diploma. but the downside to that is you'll get high school diploma pay!!
some of the classes will include:
intro to criminal justice
homicide investigations
policing and government
deviant behavior 1
......the list goes on and on..
but good luck!

we've the comparable problem i am going with to be a police officer too. im thinking of having a friends degree because of the fact im uninterested in college to and that i hate math. i also have a selection of in basic terms taking the required training to be a police officer. Its in basic terms a certificates of a friends degree yet its greater proper for me. i think of its in basic terms some months in college for the certificates. yet whilst your college dosent have it then decide for the two 365 days degree plus it truly is greater proper in case you opt to be a united statesDeputy Marshal
