Going by some of the answers on this forum I would say that they did.

I don't think we would. After all, they were already as naive as they could be! In a sense, if they had never eaten from the tree of knowledge, we really wouldn't exist. That whole story gives reason for them having sex, having children, and helping to create the human race. If they were simply as naive as always... They would still be in the garden.

Wisdom is Knowledge that has been applied.
Stupid thing to eat from a tree that your creator told you not to do.
Much like a kid today, say 10 or 15 sticking a fork in the electrical socket

In a way, they did. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil essentially gave them the ability to decide for themselves 'what was Best' Proceeding by their whims and fanciful imagination, they never had a clue...But it sure looked 'right'.

Well, since it was the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, not the tree of knowledge, I would have to say no.

Besides, you obviously ate from the tree of stupidity and you don't seem to be doing that well.

Well? Who really knows? Regardless, it was a set-up, proving once again what a wicked, twisted sense of humor the Lord has.

Never been found of practical joker gods who tempt people in the hope of seeing them burn?

Hell, I enjoy a good prank now and then, but there's just something not right about this?

actually the poor sods didint even get to properly eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and of evil (that's what the hebrew version calls it). so i think we just think we know what's good and what's evil and been arguing about it ever since.

Apparently, many people have eaten out of the tree of stupidity...

Well, they actually went to eat of the tree of stupidity, but the christians beat them to it and the tree was picked clean by the time they got there.
