Frida (you had it right) Kahlo was the wife of Mexican painter Diego Rivera, famous for his murals. She developed a distinctive painting style of her own, including many self-portraits. She often wore traditional Mexican costumes, both in her life and in her self-portarits. She and her husband were communists, and friends of many notable leftists, including Trotsky. Although they were devoted to each other, they both had many affairs. An injury left Frida in pain and often bedridden for much of her life. She was sometimes carried from place to place in her bed by her friends and admirers.

Frida Kahlo was a wonderful artist, married to Diego Rivera, another great Mexican painter. She painted in a style that combined symbolism with surrealism.
She was in a serious accident on a bus when she was young, breaking her back and her pelvis and some other bones. She had terrible pain all her life and many operations. While she was in bed after the accident, her parents gave her paints and installed a mirror above her bed. So she learned to paint, and most of her great works are self-portraits.
She was also involved in politics. She was very liberal, and hosted Leon Trotsky, one of the founders of the Soviet Union who had fallen out with Lenin, and Trotsky was assassinated by the Leninist govt. while he was in Mexico.
Her house in Coyoacan, Mexico, is now a museum.
Salma Hayek made a wonderful film about her called Frida. The film is fairly faithful to her life, and is one of Salma Hayek's best films.

She only had one eyebrow. And her art is simplistic, almost primitive in style and use of symbolism.
