I can't find my original disk anywhere!

I need Power Point, which is on my desktop computer, installed on my laptop.

As long as you have a valid license key and are only installing it on one computer you can use a copy of the software. Often Microsoft license keys are very specific to the exact version of the software you purchased so all keys do not work on all discs even though they appear to be the same program.

Depends what program, but generally you legally cant, if its ms office, then put it on and if it says that its been activated too many times call em and tell them you bought a new computer because the old computer broke, the microsoft people are pretty dense, because i know people that do that with windows, office, visual basic ect...

It's been a while since I read a Microsoft EULA for the common apps, but they allow for a single backup copy to be made. Which application did you need?

no, you would only have a license for your computer to use said program. Technically, they would have to buy their own copy.
