I dont want to sound like I'm having a pity party over here, but ever since I found God (2 years ago ) I just feel like I'm constently being testing if thats what you call it. I have been struggling with employment, relationships with friends and family members and just about every aspect of my life.I have done a 360 degree turn around on my life.I went from party animal to pretty much JUST a normal guy who prays and talks to God on a daily basis.I have to admit I was a wreck before I found God and my life was out of control, thats how I know God has been working in my life because he has turned my life around, after I was ready to throw in the towel and give up,and call it quits.( I had pertty much everything a guy could want in his life and lost it (ALL) girlfriend of 6 years who I loved and had a child with.home,car,job.( i dont blame Any of this on God) I blame myself for this life style that I choose.)I dont know how to go about this matter with God any more. (need advice)

Well if you belong to God now, know this, satan still rules this earth for a short time, and since you're a child of God, you are not an enemy of the prince of this earth like all of us who gave our lives to Jesus... ANd if things went well all the time I would be worried for now we are here to fight the good fight.

All is spiritual, and people of the world will (without knowing it) either see a kind soul or an enemy in you. It is spiritual and Jesus warned us a lot:
Joh 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Act 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

2Co 8:2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

1Th 3:1 Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone; 2 And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith: 3 That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.

Trials and tribulations are ment to strength your faith, they are necessary and also it allows you to seak GOd even more to ask how to pray, and what it is you must learn through all this.

James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

And you can be in peace throughout all your trials and tribulation, in the Peace of the Lord. His peace was never about our life being good and well, but about peace in your heart. The more people disturb you, SMILE! the more you realize you belong to GOD!

Lotta good answers, some junk mixed in. In order to truly understand the scriptures, you need to know the history of it all, and that starts with Genesis. Start there and read to the beginning of Revelation, and you will have a good idea of what went down and why things were done the way they were. Don't try to memorize the whole thing, but learn the events that led to or caused other events. Like crossing the Red Sea. Someone has now said he found out that Moses didn't cross the Red Sea, but the Dead sea, and at a time when the water was only a few inches deep. He contends that there was no miracle involved. Maybe so, but how much more of a miracle do you want. God drowned Pharaoh's entire army in ankle deep water. So who knows what mistakes history made, either was a miracle. About the 6th or 7th time through, you'll begin to understand some of what is being told to the point that you can start teaching others about it. Maybe sooner since you seem to be fairly well educated. God Bless You. When you think you have it all down good, then study Revelation. It'll scare the pants off ya. I don't recommend it to novices in the word.

Hi. That is a very good question. The short answer is, you must be doing something right in your Christian life. When you have hold of God, and are living a right life with Him, that is when satan will fight you the most. If you are not living for God, then the devil doesn't need to go after you. It seems that satan attacks new believers trying to convince them that their relationship with God is not real, and not permenant. He will try to do anything to get you to give up and turn from God. His goal is to count you among the lost.

So if you truly were saved by God's eternal gift of salvation, just let the devil know you WILL NEVER be his again, that there is nothing he can do, and tell him you have the blood of Jesus Christ over you, and you are now and forever God's child.

Not all your problems will just go away, and you may have to tell satan more than once. But stick with it, continue praying and growing closer to God. Seek God's wisdom in all that you do. Also seek out people who have been Christians longer than you who will help you with your spiritual problems.

Congratulations on your decision to follow Jesus. God is the right way to go, and you will not be sorry. Just continue to follow through to the best of your abilities. God Bless you!!

Think of it this way - when you were the wreck before you found G-d you probably didn't care about the small stuff in life. You didn't care about the bills, about jobs, relationships. At least not past what they could do for you. You were concentrating on where your next fix is going to come from.

Now that you have cleaned up your life you are more aware of all that is going on around you. It may feel like things are out of control, but maybe you were out of control for so long that this is a culture shock for you.

Life is certainly not easy, and chosing to follow G-d along the way can seem like a burden in today's society.

Instead, think of things differently. Do not see all that is going on in your life as being out of control. But as an opportunity for something better. I can tell you that some of the darkest times in my life where followed by events that were beyond all expectations. I got something far beyond what I could have ever imagines. When I left my first fiancee because he was cheating on me while he was planning to marry me, and then left by my unstable second, I felt like there was something wrong with me. I felt alone and abandoned. A few years later, after several failed relationships I ended up meeting my husband. Someone who has given me a love beyond anything I have ever experienced before. If I had married either of those men, I would have never met him, or been delayed. Plus I would have been in bad situations. They seemed like such a big deal, such a horrible event, but looking back I see why they had to happen.

I believe that when you look back on this time period on your life you will understand why things happened the way they did in order to get you where you need to be. Don't give up. Keep trusting in G-d and give him your burdens.

I truly sympathize with your situation. Really... I have no words but I shall pray ferverently for your needs and for the Lord's will to be fulfilled in your life. At present, I face my own mountain. Remember the Lord has overcome the world and we are tested through fire to refine our character.

Maybe not a comfort but nevertheless true. Also, the Lord sometimes disciplines us for earlier infractions in our lives (yes He forgives all and this may seem contradictory), but He also cannot let some things slide just so we'll be more comfortable. In fact, it is certain we shall experience struggles so that we may share in Christ's glory as Paul recounted on his missionary journies.

Also, if any of your behavior may be perceived as a risk or threat to your child, (please don't get angry; I don't know the particulars) then the best interest of the child must come first.

Change must not only come through words but actions. Be honest with yourself and seriously evaluate this.

I will be praying for the Lord's wil to be done. Don't lose heart; God is faithful.

All of these answers are filled with good suggestions. My advise is to get into the bible and keep faith filled words in your mouth.Don't let yourself say things that aren't in agreement with the promises in the word of God. Make sure you fellowship with a faith filled church and people that will help you grow as a Christian. And become dogged determined that you will Never give up.That's what the bible means to resist the devil and He will flee from you. When you make this decision that your not giving up no matter what is when you'll get your break through. You can't believe today and doubt tom morrow. You have to know that He hears you when you pray and that he understands.

First continue to pray and fast. Your faith in God will see you through your current situation. In Ezra chapter 8 verse 23 it says "We fasted and petitioned our God ... and he answered our prayer."

I would suggest that you take a proactive approach to your situation. If you are looking for a companion I think you should start a single Christian get together in your area. If you are looking for work or a home look to your local church family for assistance. God has already blessed your brothers and sisters in Christ with the ability to help other you just have to begin to pray and asks God for everything you need and desire.

I don't know exactly what you need but "may he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. Psalms 20:4

I will pray for you.

What you are experiencing is not God testing necessarily, but the adversary or Satan working against you and God at the same time. You see, Satan wishes to destroy our faith, and lead us away from God and doing what is right. This is our test, to see if we will choose God again and again, everyday. This is what builds our faith, because when we choose God again he can pour out his spirit and bless us. Each time we choose the right we strengthen our faith and our relationship with God. It gets easier to choose the right, but it doesn't mean that Satan will let up. If you are a valiant man, then Satan works all the more on turning you away. Remember Job, he lost everything as well, but he never turned against God, and he never lost faith.
Hang in there.

Dude, that's what happens. It sucks. I lost my father and my first wife during that time.

But I pulled through it.

It's like metal in the fire of a blacksmith's forge. You work the metal until become a fine edged sword. But the process does not feel so good at times.

strive for Him above all else, everything should be secondary. put your trust in Him, He will lead the way. i don't think you're being tested as much as you think. God wants your trust and I think he's trying to tell you that. life is a struggle. but be thankful for your struggles, because it will make the rewards that much more worthwhile. God Bless!
