A tempestuous downpour caught me today and I rushed to find shelter but before I could get out of the rain a lightening bolt came down across the street from me and struck a metal railing next to the street! Sparks flew off the railing and a huge noise almost deafened me! I sure was glad Jesus was with me or I might have been struck in the head and killed! Praise His name!

Have you had any close calls like this?!!

I have had several.

The first one was actually before I was born. I was "due" in 6 weeks and an airplane crashed across the street from where my Mother was outside watering some plants. (I have the newspaper clippings from 1956...)

In the 2nd grade, I was a cub scout, and another plane hit my school right after we finished our meeting and were on the way out of the parking lot.

When I was 10 I was in a car accident and suffered some minor brain damage, and lost a lot of my memory (including the three languages I spoke) I re-learned English, my native tongue, but still mix up French and German.

When I was 13 I was hit by a car on my bike. I survived because I landed in some tall grass and missed the rock by less than a foot.

I was then pretty much free of such stuff until I got older. I was also working in the Church. I was Catholic at the time, and was an "Altar Boy" and did lots of church-related work. When I reached adulthood, though, I lapsed.

I was attacked and robbed and left for dead in my mid 20's.

I had several sicknesses that "could have" and some say "should have" claimed my life.

I fainted at work one day when I was 40. It turned out that I had cancer, but because I fainted they found it early and I was cured.

The cancer treatments almost killed me, though. I had a bad reaction to one of the drugs.

Since I was baptized at age 44, however, I have been relatively free of such drama. I am in my 50's now. I see a pattern here.

On our property, quite a few times over the years. And no doubt many of those probably hit my father's cb radio tower right behind our house.

Oh you mean other things to... Well on my sister's last birthday in December, while driving across a small bridge I had a car just about decide to get us into a head on collision. And then in beginning of April I was coming home at night and just outside my neighborhood I had car headlights suddenly come AT me rather then PAST me...I basically pulled right real quick, trying to get the hell out of the way. No clue how close they came to me, and not sure I would want to know. Though I don't attribute these things to deities or their family members... Though I do wonder if life (or idiot drivers) is just out to get me and "third time's a charm"...?

I saw a bolt of horizontal lighting come through the window of our house (we lived on a lake) and go through my brother's ankle.. he was in the living room I was in the kitchen. He didn't scream but his hair was on end and he had a perfect quarter sized burn mark on each side of his ankle. My mother still took him to the emergency room just to make sure he was okay (he was).
