There is no reason from the Bible text to suggest that they were not on the ark. If they were alive at that time, Noah would have taken them. Some "dinosaurs" still exist today. Evolutionary scientist tell us that several animals, such as the crocodile, the cockroach, and the shark remain unchanged from the time of the dinosaurs. So not all "dinosaurs" are extinct. (Or have evolved).

Why did most dinosaurs become extinct? Probably for the same reason that dodo birds and carrier pigeons and all the thousands of other animals that have become extinct did. Climate changes, lack of a large enough population to continue, overhunting, diseases, etc. Any number of things can lead to the extinction of a species. In fact, more species of all kind of animals have become extinct then still exist today. You could just as easily ask why most birds are now extinct, or why most mammals are now extinct. It is not a condition that is unique to "dinosaurs".

The dinosaurs became extinct millions of years before. A popular theory is an asteroid hit the earth and kicked up enough dust, smoke, ETC. to block out the sun and therefore eventually the earth could not support dinosaur life or likeness thereof.

This ones funny...
They were long time dead. The last dino that lives about 36 millions years were believed to be in Antartica continent. Now you know what happen to them... But back then, it was cold but not that much, so they could live on even after the asteroid impact.
As for the Arch, well, there has been a real flooding period a few thousands years ago, and this account was talking about this flooding that occurs in todays Turkey. But it was far from covering the whole planet.

They weren't on the arc because they slipped off the rounded surface.

How do we know that dinosaurs weren't on the ark? After all, genetics shows that they only needed each KIND of animal, not every species or breed.
Example: Only one pair of dog (or wolf) kind was needed, that possessed all the DNA needed to produce the many breeds of wolves and dogs available today. It wasn't necessary to have a pair of dobermans, a pair of German shephards, and a pair of poodles (is a poodle REALLY a dog?).

The last dinosaur and the first man missed each other by about 60 million years, give or take a few mill.

Because the bible is just a book full of mans thoughts from along ago. Its not the "word" of god and anyone that thinks so need to wake up and smell the roses.
