recycle comes in many forms. An old lawn chair that can be rewebbed but you don't feel like it, can be FREECYCLED. The couch sitting unwanted on your back porch can be FREECYCLED. Poptabs can be saved and taken to a cancer center for recycling to help the cancer patients. You can go to Freecycle.org and find an online place to get rid of the clutter that, if you have to move will end up in a landfill. One man's trash is another mans treasure!! Keep good things out of Our Landfills!! Also, your empty butter bowls are good leftover keepers before the leftovers become compost, water bottles can be refilled and refriged for next time. So many little things you can do other than just putting the plastics in one bin and the glass in another. Find other ways to reuse first. Since the summer is upon us HOT AND HEAVY, start saving your pop cans.....squash them down and bag them up, make a buck or 2. Take your old dead car batteries and tires to your nearest Wal-Mart and either offer them to them or dump them off after the Auto shop has closed......they will recycle them. (I don't recommend doing anything illegal, but I do know for a fact that Wal-Mart will complain to themselves but recycle anyway) Call your trash company and see if they have the bins or if they know of a company that handles that in your area......

Yes I been recycling for a few years now. I have very little in my garbage bin each week. I think we should recycle more including garden waste.

Well, seems a lot of posters here recycle other people's thoughts and pass it off as their own. Does that count?

It is something they do to make you feel good, like you are making a difference? Are you making a difference? Probably not. It is good, though, because the recycling places make money, which is good for the economy and business.
I know it isn't the answer you want, and it will not get best answer, because it was a loaded question, but I felt that someone needed to tell you the truth. Sorry.

Why recycle? half of the recycling places do not take certan forms of cans, glas or plastic. Also many want to charge you to take the garbage off your hands. Do you think the government really cares about the planet? Do you think Big Business cares about the planet? Do I really have to answer this one for you?

Yeah, I recycle! I care about the Earth. Hopefully the world-wide concert, "Live Earth" ( I think that's what it's called ), will make people act about global warming and everything else.
