that they are swarming our borders to come here why can't they put that energy into fixing the problems of their home land instead of risking death (while crossing) then imprisionment and deportation once here?
i mean it takes a lot of effort to do what they do so why can't that same effort be applied at home?

When you live in a dirt shack and your government is so corrupt that they rob you every time you are in the wrong highway at the wrong time of night, and the only jobs available to you are to make and sell baskets or try to farm land that can't hold crops or drive a taxi with no customers; I'd like to see you try and start a revolution.

Can we even fix the problems in America?? OBVIOUSLY not. We can't fix immigration. We can't fix terrorism. We can't fix the price of gasoline, the corrupt government officials that we have, the war on drugs, the lazy congrees, etc. etc. America is the greatest damn country and the world and we can't fix our problems. Think about it. How can Mexico ??

You live in a Country where an individual or group of individuals can make a difference. I am not versed on the Mexican government, so maybe I shouldn't say anything, Their government is corrupt. That's the way they want their society to be, The rich get richer, the poor get poorer, kind of like the USA. The people from Mexico that come into the USA, send alot of their money back to their relatives, in that happening the USA is probably the biggest source of revenue for the Mexican government. It's kind of a wash, American business gets cheap labor, Mexico financially benefits.

For the same reasons they flock illegally to the U.S. in the first place. They're broke as a joke.

Everyone who is against the illegal invasion is doing everything they can to stop it. We've got Bush, who wants things to remain the same despite, or rather pretending to do all he can do to stop it. He wants his SPP, and NAU to happen and become complete. Don't think so... then why has Congress passed laws to stop Mexicos trucks from entering U.S., yet the Department of Transportation is going ahead with the whole idea of this regardless of those laws.

Both parties are vying for the votes. I believe that voting rights were only for American citizens, yet both parties have abused the system, and allowing illegals, and non-citizens to participate in that voting process. The Dem's more so because they want to wipe out the republican party. But the Repub's want, and need the cheap labor too. Let's say the Federal govenment does more so in this regards, as they are the entity that gives away over 1 million visas annually to illegals, and then hires about half of them. Which is against the law to hire any of them on the federal level.

And then they have the non-profit organizations like La Raza, and churches, or "santuary" cities that condone the behavior, therefore encouraging the behavior. The U.S. already has a system of justice set up, and they'd rather use those laws to justify the breaking of those laws by illegals. And these businesses know they don't have a chance in **** to remove the corrupt forces that be in Mexico to care for their own. Besides these businesses biggest motivation remaining here in the U.S., is also money. More than they would make in Mexico. That's why they're not interested in changing Mexico's system to better the people of Mexico. Another words it takes less effort on their part to just have organizations as such cater to them and their demands.

All we as the people of America can do is make our voices heard above all the other noise. Demand what we believe is good for America, and the people as a sovergn nation. And vote out those in government offices who want to continue to greet illegals with open arms.

Another reason why.

Could Mexico retake the southwestern United States?

In Conquest of Aztlan you'll see how:

Former Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo made a de facto declaration of war on the U.S.

The Mexican government helped quash an immigration measure passed by the people of California.

A fifth column of subversives is plotting to recolonize the United States.

Mexican officials prepare citizens to invade the U.S.

Mexican anti-Americanism revealed itself after the Sept. 11 attack.

Immigrants in the U.S. are encouraged to vote in the interests of Mexico.

U.S. policies ultimately are leading to a breakup of the country.

It takes money to correct Mexico's corrupt government and society. The Mexicans come here to get money any way they can. Ethics be damned. They are well cared for when they're here.
Mexico encourages this behavior. It's less people they have to deal with. It then becomes AMERICA's Problem. Until the rich bureaucrats in Washington decide it's a problem that needs enforcement, they will continue to vote themselves raises and spend endless futile hours debating it, at taxpayer dollars.

That is one of the best questions I have heard in a long time. As someone who has lived in Mexico for 2 years I can tell you there is a huge class system there, and the government is so corrupt that they have no desire to change it. People call it a Democracy, and they have two parties, but you can really only vote for one party or you risk going to jail. There are people all around watching everything you do, so there is very little freedom and little chance to change your status. So, people try to come to the US so they can improve their status, as they sure aren't going to do it back home. Their are two classes, the very rich and the very poor. Is Mexico so bad, well, I had money so for me it was wonderful, my ex-husband was going to medical school, we had money for a beautiful apartment, belonged to the ritzy swim club, we had it made. But I looked at the natives and felt a lump in my throat daily as I watched they out there begging. Yes, it is certainly a place that someone without money would want to leave, and quickly

Too easy to come here. Secure the border and you will see big changes in mexico for the good.

I have been thinking the same thing for a while now.

It seems like, they want to come here to have a better life, but when too many get here and it overloads the economy so will they then move on to another country?

Because their homeland is so corrupt. In Mexico, nothing gets done unless the right pockets get lined. No rule of law, no property rights, nuthin'. A revolution MIGHT change it, but as long as the U.S. acts as a safety valve, it won't happen.

It is easier to go to the place that does work, find work, work for good wages, work toward a better tomorrow than to work on a better tomorrow hoping you can make it work so you can find work.

I live in Mexico...I am a non hispanic US born and raised...and I am against the illegal immigration.

If the illegals would stop going across the border for one solid year the US economy would suffer so much that there would be a guest worker program done quicker than you could imagine.

But you need to call a spade a spade and put the blame where it lies.

The problem with the illegal immigrants lies in the US and not in Mexico or with the Mexicans trying to improve their lives.

The problem and the culprit is US industry, Wal-Mart, US farms and almost assuredly someone in your family or living on your block.

The same problem exists in the so called drug war. That problem is called DEMAND.

If you want the drugs and the illegal aliens to stop flooding across the borders...stop employing illegal’s and consuming drugs.

All of us Americans, of all economic levels and all races and religions are so 'cultured' to blame someone else that we never take responsibility when it can possibly be shifted to someone else.

Best Regards.

My thoughts are the same. You hear the story all they want is a better life and they are such hard workers, they clean your house and clean your yard. Yet you go to their country and its the city dump, why aren't they cleaning their house and neighbor hood so its not the city dump? They are making babies and drinking beer and laying around.
Why is it, the USA was so clean for years and yet they seem to think its because they are over here doing it.
No one cleans my house or yard but us..... we have for ever.
