this is kind of a weird question, i guess, but i would like thoughts on it.
my parents own a LOT of woodland. when i was little, my brother and sister and i used to explore a lot. one day we found this little cabin and played in it for a while. there was a stack of firewood in front of it and we brought it back to my dad.
i think i was around 8 at the time, which would have made my sister 5 and my brother 15.
anyway, my brother swears up and down this never happened. my dad remembers us brining him firewood, but says he doesn't remember where we got it.
my sister and i however both remember this very vividly. we've looked for the cabin many times over the past few years but have never been able to find it (though that may be because it's just a lot of land to look through).

this is something that i've always wondered about. how is it that my sis and i remember this so vividly (we can both describe the cabin exactly the same without consulting each other first), but my dad and brother don't remember it at all?
like it seriously drives me crazy because i KNOW it happened, but my dad and brother say it didn't.
like is it possible that my sister and i made it up when we were little and just imagined it so much that we thought it was real? and if so, why wouldn't we remember making it up?
i know this is a weird and long question, but i'm honestly looking for other people's thoughts on this, since it's something i've wondered about for like, 12 years now and never been able to figure out.

That kind of stuff happens in my family all the time, where one person doesn't remember something and someone else does.
It's all about perception and the importance that we lay on the event at the time. To you and your sister, little kids, it was special to find the cabin and get the wood. To your older brother, who had seen all kinds of houses and possibly other cabins, it wasn't as important. To your Dad, who never even went to the cabin, it was just an event of the kids bringing wood.
You were kids, you attached a greater importance to the events, you remember.

its possible that your brother and dad just forgot. if your dad remember firewood then you know part of its true. so your brother must not have a very good memory, or it wasnt an event that he thought much of so it just got lost in his memory. if i have a memory of something usually my parents dont remember it like me, or they just remember the basic thing that it was, not the details. they also have memories that i was involved in that i dont remember at all, and im 14, so its not like i forgot it because im old. but i know that me and my friends made up things when we were younger, like that we were witches that lived in a different world, and some of us remember it, some dont. its possible that you found firewood by something that you just though looked like a cabin, and you and your sister just talked about it alot and made things up about it like the details so you both actually think its true.
so in my opinion i think that it is true that you did bring back a stack of firewood from the woodland. but the rest im unsure about. to you and your sister it happened, and since your dad doesnt remember where you got it and wasnt there, then what he says doesnt help much. if your brother doesnt even think you got firewood then you cant take his word for it either, because your dad wouldnt have made up a memory of you bringing back firewood. so it sounds like you probably did find it by a cabin, or atleast something that looked like a cabin.
sorry but i dont think anyone on here will be able to tell you what really happened, they may get it right with what they guess, but you cant prove it.
memory is soo annoying sometimes. theres alot of things i wish i could remember that i cant. its a shame, your mind plays tricks on you and hides things from you.
i dont know if i believe that psychics have the ability to actually look into someones past, just by touching them or whatever, and im not sure what i think about hypnosis, but in a way i think that might work because they put you into a sleep mode, where your brain cant make things up, and so maybe it does open up your mind to memories. if you have alot of money you could do that. you'll have to tell me if you ever figure it out. good luck.

It is true sometimes we make up some stories and believe in it too much. So with time we believe the the story was right but our memory will just remember the made up story and not real fact.
As kids, even if there was no cabin, imagination runs wild and we can make many stories and keep believing just like Santa Lives.

there are several things that could be going on first the older you are the less you can remeber when you were a child two maybe it wasnt significant enough for them to remember or maybe they blocked it out because something bad hapened to him one day when he went back or maybe you and your sister had a great imagination and some things feel so real to us when we are younger we just think it happened good luck but your only way to proove it is to find the cabin and if you cant doesnt mean it never happened means maybe it gone or you just forget where it was

I had an experience like that with a childhood friend. We were playing near a creek below his house. We were around 5 yrs old. A man laying beside the creek said he had been bitten by a rattle snake and to go get help.
We ran back to the house but my friend's mother did not believe us. We went back but the man was gone. Did we witness this or dream it up? I still don't now. But I swear we saw that man and he told us a snake had bitten him.

Maybe someone trespassed onto your land and took the cabin apart.
