where can i get a giant peice of cork for my walls ??

Question

im re modeling my room and im painting it too different colors .. im obsessed with taking photos and magazine cutouts and putting them on my wall .. so while im remodeling im going to have one wall all cork .. where can i get that big of cork for cheap ? ?

I suggest you get two large bulletin boards to hang side by side instead.
Use painters tape to cover the cork part, and paint the frames same color as your wall.
Add lace/ribbon/ or other trims for a feminine backdrop.

The cork might be a bit dark. Check out crescent board. It is cheapish, suitable for push pins, and comes in bright colors. You could replace it as needed. Hold it up with Velro, available in self-adhesive rolls.

If you still want cork and aren't able to find it locally (Home Depot, Lowe's, OSH, Michael's, or a school supply outfit like Lakeshore Learning) try McMaster Carr. They are amazing, they have everything!

Searching for "cork sheet" brought up a page with 48" wide rolls, 25 feet long, for ~$55 to ~$85, depending on the thickness. It will cost about twice as much with an adhesive back, but I would recommend contact cement. Spray on the wall, and on the piece to install, and let both dry. Cover the dry adhesive on the cork with paper, position both on the wall, then slip the paper out slowly and press the cork to the wall.

They are pretty inexpensive for their size (a 10 foot wide wall 8 feet high for under $50!) and you can hang them with a caulked glue like liquid nails, but would be damaging to the walls when you remove them. Another way to hang them is to put a screw through each corner and have a big washer between the tiles and the screw. Gives a neat look and keeps the screws from sinking into them. You can also paint them any color and they are thick enough where you can use push pins all the way. Another idea is to have like just a row of them, or cork tiles, going across at about eye level.

Try going to an office supply store they might have a large cork pin board for posting notes to colleagues.
Or! you might try a construction site suppliers, specially treated cork tiles are sometimes used as a fancy floor covering

Go to some places like Lowe's or Home Depot.
One thing I caution is that it has to be glued down and if you change your mind it is very, very difficult to take it off. Try using a board and gluing the cork to it, then trim it in the same color as the wall. many different ways to hang it.

Cork is actually less expensive at school supply stores, office depot, or staples (office supply) it's usually cheeper..
