I recently bought a powershot A530
and I installed it on my desktop computer
and I can download the images and I also
have it installed in my laptop but when I click
download images it says there is no camera
can someone please help me?
btw its not the wires they are fine

There are a couple of ways to deal with this. You can bring it in to the store and try to get it fixed (return if need be) or try looking in the troubleshoot section of the manual. If that doesn't help then try uploading your pictures to your computer and then transffer them to your software.

I have a powershot S3IS and I take the mem card out of camera to download photos to PC. Try that.

Have you searched your laptop for the camera?
It might be hidden as scanner or external memory, in that case it can not be found as camera.
If that is the case you might need to un-install the camera and install it again, choosing where you put the info.
