bichon frise are great dogs. theyre not too small or too large (unless you feed them a lot.. small breeds only need puppy food for 8months old ) mines about 17lbs. the only time they get hyper is if theyre cooped up in the house the whole time and wont get walks.
and its very funny when you see them have the bichon blitz.hahha they go around and around and around.
theyre usually quite mellow (unless you are a very bad owner with no limitations and discipline and affection at the right time.. )
just make sure they get the walks they need.
the only problem is their common allergies (as of any other dog with their genetic medical problems )and grooming cause they have a curly coat which doesnt shed.

You could go with a weiner dog. But they have a tendancy to have back problems. I don't really know many types of dogs that are under 30 lbs and not hyper. I like big dogs.

The best apartment dogs are schnauzers, chi's, toy poodles, yorkies, and Maltese. Pugs are also good, but their eyes fall out sometimes... that is just not for me! I live in an apartment and I have a miniature dachshund and she is absolutely amazing in the apartment now, but she was HORRIBLE at first because they love to bark. Dachshunds are noted for their loud bark. I am a female and I live by myself and it is nice for me to have her bark the way she does because she sounds like a bigger dog, but I'm not sure if you want to have to deal with the constant training that it takes to get them to control their barking- the best way is to get a tin can and fill it with coins and shake it at them.

Believe it or not, greyhounds make great house dogs. There's a small version of the breed - I'm not sure of the name. They need to be walked, but otherwise they're pretty much couch potatoes.

daschound (weanie dog) they tend to bark alot(they were bred 2 hunt badgers& go down into the holes and scare them out by barking) but they can be just as loveable as any dog when u get them at a young agae and you can train them not to bark. they are just about 25-30lbs and are great with older people-love to play and don't really have bad tempers-only around small children though unless you raise them w/small children as puppies otherwise you can break their habits w/lots of training.

I have a Miniture Schnauzer and a toy American Eskimo, they are both around 15 pounds, quiet dogs, smart, and loyal.

THERE ARE MANY DOGS UNDER 30 POUNDS. I DO RECOMMEND THAT YOU GET A DOG FROM THE POUND...ITS THE GREATEST FEELING IN THE WORLD WHEN YOU SAVE YOUR PETS LIFE!

Pekapoo

Go to google ad type in pekapoo, then select images. You'll see how cute they are. They are very small and are playful sometimes. They make great pets and you'll just grow so attached to them. They are very easy to train... I love them so!!!
