Yes. That's the whole point behind faith. And why there is no proof of God. And, therefore, why God does not exist. He is in the mind of the "believer".

No, it is not at all true. If one is open minded enough to follow the discoveries of people that such missionary organizations as Wycliffe Bible Translators have found, one would find that there are very primitive people who realize that the world around them was created, and have worshiped "the creator". They wanted to know more about Him, and are now Christians.
The book, "Evidence That Demands a Verdict" was written by the someone who sought to prove the Bible as a lie, and found that it is not. Perhaps if you were just a little less sure of your limited knowledge that you are sure that what you believe is true, you might be found intelligent enough to discover that your conclusions are in error.

Yes. God is an idea that was turned into a sentient being so that it could be reality.
Omnipotence: strong foundation, able to do anything, full authority
Omniscience: knows all, knows you better than you know yourself, full authority (again)
Benevolence: can do no wrong, always acts in your best interest
Once people start to believe in something that incorporates these aspects, it is difficult to talk them out of it.
How unfortunate.
