My friend told me that her case manager told her to not let me in her house because my boyfriend is rude to her. I am very nice to my friend, & I don't misuse her or anything. & when he is rude, I slap him or tell him off about it. Now my friend is sad & confused because she still wants me there, & she's afraid that if she does let me back in her house, her case manager would report me for abusing disabled adults. I don't sit there & let my boyfriend misuse her. I deal with him when he's being a jerk.

Should my friend be able to make her own decisions about who to let in her house? Is it her case manager's business about who she lets in her house? I told my man that I will dump him the next time he misuses my friend.

The case manager is going a little too far with that. If your bf is rude and you are handling it, then it is up to your friend whom she allows in her house. These case managers go too far sometimes.

I think her case manager may see signs of abuse even where you are concerned. You said you "slap" and "deal with" your boyfriend when he's rude. If he's rude to your friend in her own home and you slap him in her home, then I can see where the case manager might think that both of you are capable of abusing her client and I don't blame her for advising that you not be allowed in the home.

Please take a good look at what you wrote in your question and then take a really hard look at your relationship with your boyfriend and see if you don't think it best that you stay away from your disabled friend until you can get your personal life straightened out. Call her on the phone and keep in touch, but please don't expose her to a volatile relationship that has nothing to do with her.

If your boyfriend is rude to your friend, why not try visiting without him? Also, if the case worker saw you slap your boyfriend, maybe she has concerns about you. Slapping your boyfriend is not the right way to handle a situation. Remember, her concern is with her client's well being.

It is not up to her case manager who she lets in her home, it's her decision. It's not her case manager's business what company she has.
