i have a hitch for tolling on my car. does all hitch the same side for all vehicles?

the basic hitch system is different from each model vehicle. a receiver hitch has three different receivers depending on the class of hitch being used, a flat tongue receiver(class one), and one inch receiver(class 2), and a two inch receiver(class 3,4, 5). you also can have 3 different hitch balls as well 1 7/8", 2", 2 5/16"(iirc).

All hitches are specific to each car. And do not expect a 1995 chevy malibu to fit a 1999 chevy impala. even though the same W body chassis is used.
