Start by eliminating useless calories like fast food, white flour, and sugar.

Replace all your bread with 100% whole wheat. Add lots of fruits and veggies to your diet. Meats are fine in small quantities and without creamy or greasy sauces.

DON'T eliminate all fats, your brain needs a small amount to function properly. Use good fats but use them sparingly (olive oil is great for you). Get a can of olive oil pan spray for cooking stuff.

If you don't want to fuss with figuring out calories, etc., and still want to lose weight at a rate of about 2 pounds per week---you might want to try Weight Watchers online. That's what I used to lose a lot of weight and I kept most of it off. Unlike diets where you drop a ton of weight really quickly, this diet works better to reshape your eating habits. I've done Suzanne Sommer's diet, Atkins, etc., and WW Online was the only one that really helped me keep the weight off and change my long-term eating patterns.

definitely fruits and veggies...

anything you eat, make sure there is as little fat as possible, go for lowfat/fat free products, they insure fewer calories

you can eat a lot of things without having to cut back too much...

for example, pasta. a lot of people tend to eat more than what the serving size is. when you make pasta, toss it with some veggies, so your mixture is half grain, half vegetable. that way, you can eat the same amount, but you're really getting fewer calories

make a smootie...they're pretty flexible, and you get vitamins from fruit, calcium and protein from yogurt/milk (use fat free). you can cut back on sugar or use sugar substitutes, if need be

frozen yogurt instead of ice cream

baked instead of fried

and of course, watch your portion size. that's what really matters. if you're trying to lose weight, count and add up the calories in the things you eat

Fruits and vegetables. You still need some carb to get your energy to function day to day.

Low fat food - but eat lots of veggies! Stay off fried food and most fast food.
Drink plenty of water. Stay off softdrinks

You also need regular exercise!

Yogurt. Skim milk. All fruits and vegetables. Anything with fiber. Really, you can eat anything if you just watch your calories. I'd say.. 1500/day + some excercize and you'll lose what you need to.
Just so you know, 1g of fiber takes 7g of fat out of the body.

Stop being naive. Anything that isn't filled with bad fat/sodium/cholesterol/empty calories and simple carbs. USE YOUR HEAD and eat healthy things like; whole grains [brown rice, 100% whole wheat pasta and breads, whole grain cereals], soy/rice or almond milk, vegetables, fruit, beans, nuts..

You should try salads, fish, fruits, chicken, whole grain rice, water, low fat ice cream, angel food cake, and little snacks that are healthy. Stay off the starches, trans fat, fat, carbs, and sugar.

Lots of protein, veggies, and excercise is how i did it.

Things like nuts (such as trail mixes) are good for the protein. . . .and also they send a signal to the brain telling it your not as hungry. . . .so those are great
