Which state is the most conservative or strict?

It's Mississippi... google it. (most religious)

Conservative state... I'm guessing Utah.

I would be amazed if Utah was not #1. Most of their state's residents are part of the Latter Day Saint religion.

I'd be interested in the websites about why Mississippi is considered more religious.

I'd also think that Utah is the most conservative as well, both politically and in theology.

I don't have a citation on this, but I do seem to recall that in the last Presidential election, the highest percentage of votes in a state for Bush were from Utah. (if you were to look up the percentage of votes were for Bush vs for Kerry, you would see what I mean).

I would have to say Texas is. This state has everything from Hinduism to satanism all in one city. I have seen Buddhist temples, mosque, huge sanctions and churches. I would not expect to see a collection of churches through shopping malls. but there is. There are people in classrooms with at least four different religions all together.

I don't believe that conservative and strict mean anything close to the same thing.

I would not have a clue about which state.

But its not New York, not Illinois, not California, not Florida.
