It depends on the age of the kids. Usually, they need to be in their own rooms or sharing with same sex siblings after age 13. And they will give you a warning before just taking your kids away. You might be able to solve the issue by putting up a room divider.
PS - someone has to make a complaint. The state doesn't just check up on people, they don't have the staffing to do that.

Call your local Department of Social Services and inquire.
Some states, and I do think Texas may be one of them, have laws (silly, I know) that boys and girls can not share a room (not even blood siblings-it does not apply to ONLY foster children, or ONLY step siblings, or ONLY older children, either).
For the security of your family, you should find out for sure (from someone OTHER than Yahoo! Answers).
HOWEVER, I highly doubt that they do door to door checks! So unless another issue comes up that sends them to your home, you would "probably" be safe. Not sure if you want to take that chance.

I can't find any site that quotes state laws. All I'm finding related is that FEDERAL fair housing laws state a landlord can not require any such thing so I would think that the state can;t either. Call your local child protective services I guess for the best answer.

They can't take them away for that. I slept in the same bed as my brother while my parents were building our house. We didn't have enough beds or rooms.
They can only take the kids away if they aren't getting proper care as in food, clothing, shelter or are in a dangerous environment (parents leaving them alone too young, drugs, etc). Taking them away is usually a last resort. They'll give you all sorts of help to provide food and clothing and checks to pay electric bills.

I think that really depends on the age of the children. I am not sure of the laws in Texas but you can call childrens services and ask them. I suppose you could even give a false name so they cant figure out who you are if you are worried about it.

yes they can but there has to be more than just this. most states require siblings of opposite gender be in separate rooms for privacy at least put the girl in your room as long as you dont have a man too. he might not like it and get a 3 bedroom your kids need their own room since they are a boy and girl

I doubt they would take them without a warning, but setting up a room divider would be an excellent temporary fix if a larger apartment isn't possible right now.

It depends on the age and the circumstance's. If one child is acting out badly on one way (you know what I am getting at) But if thy ae baby's Meany people do this the older can help at night make baby sleep happier

I doubt it. If it eases your mind, put a curtain up to divide the room, and then you have two rooms...
