I think this has been answered, but I'm not reading all of the answers.
Move up a diaper size. I have not had any problems with cruisers, and they are the only diaper (so far) that has a size 7 (we will need them in a few months). If your son still fits nice in a 3, use them during the day, and use a 4 at night. That's the first sign of moving up. My son gets rashes from almost all other diapers except pampers cruisers.

My daughter ALWAYS leaks through Pampers. She's only eight months old and wears a size two. I've tried switching diapers. Huggies are working better for her through the night, cos I'm sick of changing her sheets too.

I've seen two answers that have said go to a store that sells plastic pants and cloth diapers and throw away the diaper and use the plastic pants. Plastic pants don't absorb anything.
My recommendation is to throw away the disposable diapers and keep the cloth diapers and plastic pants. There is no guessing as to what size your child needs. If he leaks, you just add another cloth diaper before you put the plastic pants on. Simple as that.
Cloth is much better for your child anyway. The cloth breathes better than disposables. You aren't putting the chemicals used in manufacture of the disposables against your baby's skin.
If your baby gets diaper rashes, they will virtually disappear if you switch to cloth as long a you change your baby's diaper as soon as you can after he uses it.
The solution to your problem is that close at hand. The answer is cloth, cloth, cloth and more cloth diapers.
Good luck.

Buy a cheaper brand! Seriously, Huggies/Pampers are the most expensive, but the supermarkets own brands work well too. I don't know where you are in the world, but if you're in the UK, try the Babycharm from Wilkinsons stores, or even Little Ones explorers (I think) from Sainsbury's.
Failing that, change the nappy during the night...
Oh, just read that you said 'Diapers', not nappies- I guess you aren't in England, huh?!

I have 2 kids and have tried all kinds of diapers....and Luvs are by far the best for leaks. We have never had a leaky diaper...even overnight. In the morning some times we are shocked that the diaper is so full, but no leaks.

Ok here's what you do.... Call pampers 1-800 number and they may give you a refund, just save the pkg with the upc #... I had problems with huggies/pampers, I eventually, starting using Bj's brand diapers for both my children and I haven't had a problem since and they are money back guaranteed as well. I get 179 diapers for under $20. Also, giving your child less to drink at night will help and not letting them go to sleep with bottles/sippy cups.. both lead to teeth rotting. My mother worked for a peds dentist and they saw 100's of cases of bottle/sippy cup rot... Good luck

Yes, I went through that ... and am still going through that. No fun. I found for my son that pampers did the trick for number 2, but didn't always hold all the wet.
Eventually I just gave up and got cotton training pants and rubber pants over the diaper. It saved the sheets.

Due to leaking we had to switch my son to a disposable diaper with a cloth diaper and plastic pants on top. The result was rather bulky but it did prevent future leaks.
