I am planning my holiday and when I go I would like to see some turtles. Please tell me when they come.

If you want to either see a female come ashore to nest or to see hatchlings, there are a number of places along the coast for this, although I don't know of any close to Port Douglas. Have a look at this page: http://www.epa.qld.gov.au/nature_conservation/wildlife/native_animals/watching_wildlife/turtles/

You can see them anywhere... just keep your eyes peeled.

I've been to Clifton Beach and they've come right up to the jetty. Also seen them at Kewarra Beach (northern beaches of Cairns)

If you are going out to green island on a snorkeling trip, (or anywhere out on the reef) you will see a few while swimming out there. They really are huge.

Have fun in Port Douglas.
