They say, "God CANNOT become a man. . ."
It is arrogant, first of all, to say that God cannot do something.
And God DID become a man in the Old Testament.
Genesis 18
1And the LORD appeared unto him (Abraham) in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
2And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
3And said, My LORD, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
Abraham called these three men, "MY LORD", and then he bowed to them. Had these men been angels, they would have told Abraham to rise and not to worship them.
When Daniel tried to worship Gabriel, the angel told him not to, that he is just a messenger from God.

Also, a man appeared to Joshua.
Joshua 5:13-15
13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, "Are you for us or for our enemies?"
14 "Neither," he replied, "but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come." Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, "What message does my Lord [d] have for his servant?"
15 The commander of the LORD's army replied, "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy." And Joshua did so.
Joshua worshiped this man, and the man did not object to it. Also the man told Joshua to take off his shoes, the same thing that God told Moses to do when God appeared to him as the Burning Bush.

People say all kind of things out of ignorance. Some of them say things like that because that's what they have been taught all their lives. Some things have been passed down for generations that are wrong. That's why Christ said unless you despise (hate) your life, you can't be his disciple. (Luke 14: 26) He also walked in the garden of Eden in the cool of the day looking for Adam and Eve the morning that they ate the forbidden fruit.

If God is Love,All-Powerful,Just, Compassionate and Merciful then becoming Man is right up His alley. If God is Eternal Love , the Trinity makes perfect sense.
In Byzantine iconography the visit of the Three at Mamre is called not only "The Hospitality of Abraham" but "The Old Testament Trinity". Rublev's version is the most famous with all sorts of Trinitarian imagery and geometry.

I'm pretty sure Christ is God in the flesh too... cept Jesus was actually born, lived and died. Something totally different than any of the other manifestations. I think God wanted to experience the world through Jesus, He wanted to live amoung His people and be one of them. He also had to prepare for the future because it is in Christ's being reborn a second time that He truly makes Himself known to the world for the rest of eternity.

God can do anything that he wants. He's God.
However, the can't do anything that he doesn't want, therefore he cannot create a rock so big that he can't lift it. He doesn't want to.
Titus 1:2 tells us that God can't lie. I guess he doesn't want to do that either.
I've actually never heard anyone say that God cannot become a man, but that was a good response.

God cannot sin. God cannot let sin go unpunished.
Jesus was a man and God.
For everyone who does not believe this here are some of the reasons I believe this:
Jesus is God
Jesus is the Word. I will add His name in parenthesis next to the Word.
In the beginning was the Word(Jesus), and the Word(Jesus) was with God, and the Word(Jesus) was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:1-5
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
The Word Becomes Flesh
And the Word(Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’” And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. John 1:6-18
Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”
Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” John 8:56-58
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. Colossians 1:15-20
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Preached among the Gentiles,
Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory.
1 Timothy 3:16
