It is the perfect way!

To seek knowledge and inspiration for all things and every soul on Earth.

This is the path to enlightenment where we see the Unity of all the things that surround us and touch us.

Journey on Pangel..shinning one :)

Personally, I would start by reading the Bible and asking God to open up your heart and your mind and help you find your way, if it is enlightenment you are looking for. If you do not find your answer there, then start reading more of the teachings of the others and see what speaks to you. It may well be that you draw inspiration from them all, and if so, its not such a bad way to live, with grace and peace and love, giving and receiving in love. There will always be wonderful, inspirational people in this life who give more of themselves than they seek from others, they will come from all walks of life, all faiths, I am sure we can all learn something from those people. Good luck and God Bless.

It is SO not wrong to take inspiration from everywhere and everyone.
Keep on keeping on, sweety. You're starting down a very long, loving, and beautiful path, and don't forget, there are loads of people walking along with you. Give us a yell if you ever need us.
There is a saying,
"...for if that which you seek, you find not within yourself, you will never find it without."
So good luck, hun, and Blessed be.

Hiya Pangel,Sure, everything can teach.
And there are all these lovely feminine figures. (The Tara comes as White or Green).
But there is always another side to Buddhist iconography - the fierce one.
Have a look also at the Vajra Yogini, with her sword and her fierce face, as she cuts free the bonds of ignorance.

Buddhism is often, quite correctly, seen as a gentle, compassionate religion but it insists also on wisdom and firmness of intent. And it goes in for real compassion, not 'idiot' compassion. Buddhism is a religion for toughies rather than fluffies. (That's not a reference to Fluffy Wisdom, who is most definitely not!)

Religion is just part of the human mind and belongs to everybody.
You would not mind taking inspiration from philosophers or poets or scientists as you mention. So what's the difference ?
If you believe in a unique God, every God or Goddess of the past is a side of him. I think Ramakrishna said : God is like a diamond with an infinite number of facets, everyman sees only one facet and believes he sees God ... but why not try to see other facets as well ?
Excuse my poor english

Hmm ... cheese sandwiches for ever, or a buffet of dishes from the four corners of the World?

Difficult choice ... not. Enjoy the soul food dear Pangel .

If I were able to wish one thing for all persons of this world, it would be that each would learn about and from all of the religions of the world, past, present and yet to come, see the beauty and wisdom that each possesses and teaches and then , incorporate the same into his or her life.

If everyone did this, what a truly wonderful world we would share, filled with enlightened, happy individuals who understood one another in regards to their beliefs and thier culture, lived without fear of one another and the "other's beliefs" and , most importantly, lived in peace.

Think how wonderful it would be if all pesons shared your interest and vision and all participated in such a spiritual journey, coming to realize that we are not separate from one another but, in reality, are all one.

I congratualte you and applaud your efforts. Please, for your well being and that of all others, continue. Please, as you continue, teach and inform others as and when you can.

There is delightful Japanese Zen Buddhist saying about Mt. Fuji, which says ,"All roads lead to the top of the mountain".
may it all be well with you, my dear friend and sister.

Well, there is something to be said for "practice makes perfect", and some folks benefit from focusing thier attention on one idea, and studying it thoroughly...in my own experience, I feel the same basic concepts are expressed in all religions, but I might not understand it presented in one way, and might understand it better presented another way, or I might not understand it, until I have seen it presented through the eyes of several different spiritual teachers, and had the chance to think on it, and compare the ideas for the common threads, but that's me, and that's why I consider myself to be a Universalist / Pagan. So to answer your question 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, Spirit reveals itself to each of us in a unique and personal way, some do fine focusing on one school of thought, while others do better comparing, and looking for common threads in the different schools, in order to find the ultimate truth running through all of them...

Yes, sweet Pangel, do look up Tara as VS suggests. She is an incredible manifestation of the Buddha's love, and has directly intervened on my behalf to wake my raggedy butt up and keep me on the path.

And I think we should take love, compassion, inspiration and Truth where ever we can see it, examine it, evaluate it, and know it within our hearts to be true.

There is wisdom to be found in all paths. No one way has the whole truth about everything for everyone. I am a Lutheran Christian, yet I am moved by the teachings of Buddha and by certain aspects of Hinduism and Paganism. There is nothing wrong with this approach. There are as many ways to God/truth as there are souls on the earth.

I believe that God has revealed himself to different cultures in different ways in different times, etc. This has given birth to many different religions, each seeking to understand what they know of God. I believe that truth is like a many-faceted diamond. Within our own belief system we can look at one facet and see the truth in it. But to fully understand the truth, we must look at it from all angles. Each religion has some facet of truth that others may or may not see. It is up to each religion to share their knowledge of truth with others...not try to convert others to see it only their way.

Blessings in the Light of Christ!
