is this bad becuase parakeets love to sing.

Is your parakeet new???? If so, give it time, it will start singing and chirping when it is comfortable in it's new home.

Is he by himself? Perhaps he's lonely. Buy another- & put it in a cage nearby. Maybe having a "friend"- will give him something to sing about! :)

Are you giving him/her enough attention? He/she may be depressed. Is he/she getting at least a few hours outside of his/her cage? This is needed. Is this how your bird came? If it's out of the norm, then your bird is probably sick.

try talkin birdy language to him,u know,tuting and clucking! it really works!
