Don't use anything like a bacitracing ointment, or neosporin. As those can actually trap bacteria in the petroleum once the ant-bacterial properties wear off.
Bactine, or salt water is the best option for keeping your piercing clean. Also make sure that any glasses, hats, headbands etc are kept very clean!
Weekly or twice weekly changing of your pillow cases is imporatant as well.

Use a good anti-bacterial soap every day. Avoid ANY alcohol on the piercing period. In the past once, I used a very small amount of Neosporine on my piercings by lightly coating them with it. Yes, I had to clean them every day too, yet the piercings healed up a whole lot quicker too. Saline flush solutions work very well too. You can get them at the local pharmacy cheaply. DO NOT use contact lens cleaner solution!!!!!!
