Jesus Christ loves you, right?

His love is like a father for a son or daughter.

If your child does not love you or believe in you, would you condemn him/her to burn for Eternity?

Would that be a definition of parental love or God's love?

You've hit on just one of many fatal flaws of Christianity.

Speaking as a parent (of sometimes very ummm....rambunctious children) if my children don't do what they are supposed to be doing or deny me or whatever, the dicipline is immediate. It does not wait until later because there is no lesson learned that way. Why would an all knowing god not know this?? It doesn't make any sense. This is why the karmic laws make far more sense to me. It isn't about eternal punishment, it's about paying the price for your actions when you make them. That's what real teaching and instruction is about. Any parent who would eternally punish and basically disown their child is cruel and has no business being a parent.

If you believe that, than you have a sick, demented love.

I don't know how many Christians have answered your question. But, if you believe that if you do 1 thing wrong and God is going to send you to hell, than somebody has lied to you.

The concept of God's love is exactly that of a parent with their children. It is very true that a parent would not kick their child out of the house while they are young. However, if that child is at an age to where they have the right to choose what they are doing, they have the choice to live in their parents house, yet they continually choose to violate the rules established by those very same parents. It is plain and obvious that the child is the one deciding what is going to happen to them.

God is the same way. He will not condemn you to hell. You're condemned by what you choose to do. If you tell your young child, "Don't steal cookies," and they decide to do it anyways. Do you throw them out of the house and expect them to live on their own. No! However, there is going to be some kind of repercussions. Whether, you believe in spanking, time-outs, etc...

God clearly defines what He desires out of mankind, however mankind will not be judged for what they don't know. But, if one knows that they are doing wrong according to what God has defined, do you expect Him to do anything but what He already said?

It's so funny how people try to "American-ize" God. God is a king, whether you like it or not this is how He has chosen to deal with those who reject him and honestly if you leave Christianity over the topic of hell then we know where you are going. You can curse Him all the way there. He can take it.

Here is the error of those that told you of this verse - Keep in mind that there are many that pick and choose what to say or not from the bible. These are modern scribes.

John 8:44 - Jesus speaking

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Not all people then or today or all who call their selves Christian are by the Father (God) some are of their father (Satan).

Peace -C

That isn't love no matter how much you say free will or choice. Love is not about eternal torment, burning people alive, and torture. My child could never do anything or say anything so bad I would ever wish him such a thing. Nobody is so bad they deserve it, in my opinion. This is the main reason I stopped being a Christian, the doctrine of hell. Now I have many more reasons, but that was the original one.

Jesus is alive and well and knows what we humans go through first hand in suffering. All of us go through painful trials in life. Do you allow the pain for revenge and bitterness or to be refined by it to make you strong? If my son needs an operation to save his life, do you sign the papers so that through all the cutting and the blood and the scars, that he will be saved and live? God loves us so much He gave us His Son to die on the cross but was ressurected after a few days that He could be seen and rise. Now all of us are healed by His wounds. He is the Lamb of sacrifice for our sins, so now no one dies due to the death penalty of sin. I love my son enough to tell him about Jesus and that He is real and loves us. If I dont I do not love my son and I put him into the world without the love and morals of a Christian parent that are foundational to keep his way lit to lead to Jesus.Love is beyond pain and hurt and turmoil. Gods love is everlasting. God is our heavenly Father who is patient and does not desire that anyone perishes. A rebellious person lives by their lusting desires doing whatever gets them fame, fortune and sex. They put themselves first. In Jesus, in life or death or trial, nothing can separate us from the love of Christ, we will have eternal life and rewards in heaven where true treasure is.

No I would not condemn him, but I would respect his wish to be left out of my presence, which is exactly what God does. He does not condemn people to Hell, it is a choice that the person makes and God, with a heavy heart, honors that persons wish even if it is not best for that person.

Who's condemning? God's love is what gets us out of Hell, if you don't believe in him/ have no love for him, you'll go to Hell.

If your child comes home and announces that they are going to do something which you absolutely cannot approve of, what would you do? You can forbid it, but they'll just do it anyway. You can punish them for doing it, but they're still going to do it. You see, it is OUR choice to go to hell rather than accept God's love for us which comes through belief in Jesus Christ. God does love us, but He must be just, and sin has been committed, and the punishment is Hell. He didn't want us to go to hell, so He sent His Son to die for us so we wouldn't have to go. What's He to do if we don't believe Him or don't accept His free gift? The same as any parent, He lets us pay for our mistakes.

If a Child is disobedient you must punish it or it may end up in a worse way.
