I've hit so many dead ends with this religion. It's more like applying for a job than a church. I was denied baptism because I was on parole. When I got off parole I was told couldn't get baptized because I was Bipolar and not accountable for my sins. I have been laughed at by the Mission President for trying to join the church due to the fact that I went to prison for trying to kill my mom. I ended up in the mental hospital twice in one year since I tried joining this church. A month ago I swallowed 60 pills. I really need to be delivered because this isn't Healthy for me. Please pray HARD for my deliverence from this religion.

the reason it was such a big deal to me was because they claimed to have the only authority and keys to heaven to perform the baptism.

I refrained from answering this for a while, since I am totally unqualified to give you either spiritual, legal or medical advice.
I have a dear friend at work who was recently diagnosed as bipolar. It's been a constant battle for her to get the 'right chemistry' with her meds, but without them, she can go from the highest of highs to the depths of hell. Nonetheless she perseveres, and 'so far, so good'.
A mormon bishop, while well meaning, cannot offer you anything more than 'study and pray', but if you don't enlist the help of a medical professional, his advice will not be much good. The mormon church also has an 'unwritten' doctrine that if you are unwell, you've obviously sinned, or aren't right with god.
As for spiritual help, read as much as you can, and maybe something will click with you. Mormons are a judgmental group and do not deal well with anyone who does not conform to the Ozzie/Harriet lifestyle. Staying in their sphere may not be healthy.

I will pray for you.
----
Remember that faith and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven.
"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6
So when they say that they hold the keys to Heaven, know that this is not true.
---
Pray to God always and read your Bible.
Show the truth of Jesus, the Son of God, to the people,so they know that they have errored. And also remember:
" If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love it's own. Yet because you are not of the world, therefore the world hates you." John 15:18-19
But God loves you.
"As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love." John 15:9
-------
I would urge you to get away from this as soon as you can.
If you want - visit an Orthodox Church. This is the Church I attend, and it is very welcoming. I would think that it would be healthier for you and I think you would like it. If you can, check it out.
God Bless.

Melissa, nobody holds keys to heaven, because nobody ever made any keys. There s not even a lock. And forget about the gate. Its all inside of YOU. Your own, nature and your own heart. Thats where the true answer lies. Those who claim to have "the keys" are often times deeply disturbed individuals, otherwise claims like this would not be even uttered. We are all humans, and we all have an equal right before the .....you know....So, gather some strength and look within your heart. Look deep, and im sure you will be able to find happiness and content. best!

*sigh* I've heard about this kind of thing. The Mormon church- not that I'm bashing them or anything- is nice to you to get you to convert to their religion, but are pretty picky with details. They believe that you can't be accepted by God for some reasons you can't help. It's up to you to get out of it, though. Try going to a Christian church. And you should pray too.

Dear Melissa,
Please know that God loves you very much and cares about every aspect of your life.
God sent His Son to die for your sins you only need to accept Him as your Savior saving you from your sins and He will.
No Mormon church needed.

You want to be delivered from the truth?
Did you ever think that you should just do what you can to straighten out your life? When you do you'll be able to be baptized. You need divine help in your life though. Keep seeking the Lord and He will deliver you.
