Myth, it is all in the mind. I attended churches that preach and practice exorcisms and claim demonic possession for three years and I never saw one true signs of anyone ever being possessed.
I saw mostly young people, teenagers mostly wanting attention so they would act weird and claim all sorts of things and then of course when being exorcised, they then would get a lot of attention and become a sort of role model.
One thing I witnessed is we were sitting around playing with a Ouija board, and a boy and girl started claiming they saw demons and the board was spinning by itself and things were floating in the air and I was there, nothing like that was happening, but these two went down, had an exorcism done and then they began going from church to church telling how they faced the devil and was delivered. People just believed their story without any evidence and these kids were instant celebrities.
In every so called account of possession I have seen, it was either fake like the above or it was all in the person's mind because someone had planted the seeds of possession in them.
In my experience and observation believing in demonic possession is a very good way to control people. Cause them to believe they will be possessed if they do not do what you say then they can be controlled
Convincing someone they are POWERLESS over anything is a way of controlling that person.

I think people are capable of doing unusual and/or amazing things when they are in a state of mental anxiety.
Edit: An example (sort of) My grandmother is a hypochondriac. She has appointments with three different doctors each week. And still goes to the emergency room. She has these 'episodes' that can not be explained by any doctor (at the hospitals she's been to). She got it in her head that she was having these (some sort of throat swelling thing) episodes b/c she is releasing her body of chemicals she's picked up throughout her years of painting. She actually has these things happen to her but they can be traced to the person's state of mind. So, I think some 'fake it' but I also believe a person can unknowingly put themselves into that state.

1.) Yes
2.) Yes
3.) Yes...Kinda. As U don't say what Ur People are "Saying", I can't tell U for Sure. Satan is the Angel of Light, second only to the Trinity in Beauty. He is also the Greatest Musician & Vocalist, again second only to the Trinity. He is also EVIL, a Lier & the Great Deceiver, in whom NO TRUTH is found. He will Use Any Method to Take Souls that are Willingly given to him. Is that which U see the Evangelistic TV people doing as "Exorcisms" real??? Probably not. Scripture says in Eph. 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against Principalities, against Powers, against the Rulers of the Darkness of this World, against Spiritual Wickedness in High Places." John

Very true...When I got saved. I went through two deliverance's and they are very real! So real that once you come back from the dark you are left to ask questions about what had happen. Because when you come back you do not remember a thing. All you feel is exhaustion and free. But mostly exhausted...and I had very sore throat form all the puking...yes lots of puking....screaming...foul language....and apparently from a good source (the people I did bondage breaking with who watched my second deliverance) told me I was frothing at the mouth and i was cross eyed and my body had contorted. So from my experience it is very real.

yes...it is very true...... even when you don't realize it people can be possessed, take serial killers for instance, no one in their normal state of mind would do this...but when you aren't filled with the holy spirit...then you are at risk of being filled with numerous demonic forces. you know the phrase the devil made me do it....there is some truth to that. the devil puts these things in our minds and works at our weaknesses. the only thing strong enough to fight it or keep it away is the Lord Jesus Christ , the bible says that demons cower at His name. people must keep away from certain things that allow demons entrance into us.

Nope, sorry. If you are feeling possessed, you probably need a nice stay in a mental institution where the nice people can bring you some anti-psychotics.
Unless you think an exorcist comes with a medical degree...

Demon possession seems to have come to a grinding halt since the invention of psychoactive drugs. Go figure....

Truth! He is a very real entity and is according to the Bible seeking someone to destroy; "1Pe 5:8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
1Pe 5:9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world."
His greatest weapon is our ignorance of him and the scriptures.

Yes, demons exist. They may go by other names depending on beliefs, but they exist. They are the forces that promote destruction, turmoil and discord.

There is no case of supposed demonic possession that cannot be better explained by natural occurrences.
